By the time Vit muttered his thanks, Aditi had spotted him talking to her son. While Vit had already moved to the other side of the hall to inspect the balcony, Aditi smiled because Rukma had gone in another direction wanting some fresh air. As expected Vit did not find Rukma on any of the three balconies he checked. He was feeling irritated and anxious thinking where has Rukma gone. Suddenly he spotted her at the far side walking towards the pillared courtyard that had views of the sea.

It was deserted and when he rushed there, Rukma was staring at the horizon lost in thought. He slowly walked upto her and stopped a few feet away. Rukma turned at the sound and was shocked to see him. She clearly did not expect him to be there. She had just accepted the first formal date with Rahul and was wondering how the next phase of her life will be. She wanted time by herself to process all that had recently happened.

'I think I asked for restraining orders, you should not be within 10 feet from me.' She was still upset with the previous meeting.

'This is a public event where both of us are guests.' Vit said.

'Then I think you should pay attention to your social duties.' she said.

'In the similar way that you have been attending to your social duties? It did not take you long to move on after cancelling our marriage!' Vit said in anger.

'Wow, says someone who got engaged when we were still married!' Rukma decided to be direct.

'For my defense I can say that I lost my memories and no one believed me when I said that I was married.' Vit defended himself.

'No problem, anyway this unwanted marriage is over so you need not concern yourself with me.' Rukma wanted to get rid of him.

'I am not concerning myself with you.' Even Vit knew that this was a white lie.

'Then please return to the hall. Your fiancée would be looking for you.' Rukma reminded him.

'Before I go back, I want to warn you again about Rahul. I had told you earlier about his intentions.' Vit wanted to stress on her connection with Rahul.

'That he intends to marry me?' Rukma was becoming increasingly angry.

'Yes he told me that himself and I would suggest that you should not step anywhere near Rahul!' Vit stepped closer and Rukma nearly backed into a pillar.

'Why are you saying that? Who are you to tell me whether I should talk to someone or not?' Rukma was irritated by his high-handed behaviour.

'I am your still husband- legally we are still married, I want you to remember that!' Vit was almost shouting.

'How many days more? a week or two? I am going on a date with Rahul next week.' Rukma decided to inform him.

The world was spinning for Vit and he decided to talk in a way that would shake her. He held her by shoulders and backed her into one of the pillars. It was as if the electricity shot through them  and then....not knowing what took over.....he kissed her with a sense of possession and passion that he himself did not recognize. The kiss deepened when she did not resist. He could not stop himself from touching her all over. His hands went to her back and he held her by the waist to continue to taste her.
