When Rukma and Aditi moved to the corner, Aditi hugged Rukma and it became very tough to not to cry. She was feeling very emotional.

'See Rook, we might have to tell him what happened.'

'I don't feel like it.'

'I know it is painful. But think of his debt for taking care of you.'

'Ahh...but this should be the end of it!'

'Hmmm...let me tell them to document and sign off...I will inform Yash about it.'

Yash on the other hand did not want to tell Vit the implications of what was being discussed. So he was in a fix, what to do while waiting for Aditi and Rukma to return. He felt he found the solution when his phone buzzed, it was uncle.

'In case Vit is making any delays in signing off this marriage, allow him.' uncle said.

'But we are already too late...this marriage has gone on too long...' Yash was trying to whisper his response.

'It can last longer than we have imagined. If so let it be....we can discuss in the evening when you brief me.' uncle decided.

'Sure uncle.' Yash said but he was never more unsure of anything else. This entire case was becoming weirder everyday. Everyone associated with it from Vit to Param had unexpected behavior changes and now uncle was added to the list!

Aditi walked back to the table and Rukma quietly followed.

'My client is ready to share the information, but you need to document and sign off. This will not be submitted in court but we will keep a copy to avoid any complications in future.' Aditi suggested.

Yash looked at Vit and he nodded in agreement.

Rukma decided to stare out of the window at horizon trying to focus on those memories.

'Well I was in the forests to the south of Goa, in the areas near the Kalli river, close to Anashi wildlife sanctuary studying the local societies and their relationship with the  nature around them for my research on sustainability. It had gone better than expected and I planned to give a surprise to Chetan and Navya by coming home a month ahead of schedule. I lived in a small makeshift room near the top of hills.

I packed my belongings in the backpack. After the accident of mom and dad, I had turned minimalist and traveled with as few things as possible. So it all fitted in the backpack and I was excited when I started to lock the cottage. It was then that someone came from behind and put a strongly chloroformed cloth on my nose. I tried to punch him, Chetan had taught me basic self defense skills but I fainted before I could do anything.

When I regained consciousness I was at the back of a Jeep, lying on the floor with my hands tied on my back. I could make out the shoes of the two goons seated there. My head was aching but I did not make a noise and tried to understand the route we were taking. They did not realise that I was conscious for the last 10 minutes of that journey. When they stopped, they spoke to each other in a certain dialect of Hindi which I understood only partly. So I knew they were not from the region.
