"A singles mixer? They have those for Highschoolers?"

Your friend messaged you the info,
"Yeah, and you should totally go! I know you've been sad ever since that underclassman got a boyfriend,"

You scoffed,
"I'm not sad! I was just... caught off guard. And don't these things usually need alcohol?"

"There's soda?"

"I don't think that's the same thing,"

Your friend rolled their eyes,
"Just go (l/n), even if you don't get with anyone, it'll probably still be fun!"

You groaned,
"Ugh, fine. I'll go,"

You made it to where the mixer was being held, which was the house of some third year who's parents weren't home.

You weren't sure why you even went, you could be doing so many other things! Like photography, or studying, or even sleeping!

That's when you realized, you didn't have to go. You could just tell your friend that you went, without actually having to. But just as you were about to turn around and retreat, the door opened.

"(L/n)! You made it! Come on in!"

You put on a fake smile while internally screaming, and walked into the house. Much to your dismay, besides the friend who invited you, you didn't know anyone.

That is, until you saw a gray haired boy walking into the house. He also seemed like he was out of place, frantically searching for anyone he could talk to. You decided to end his search by approaching him.

"Sugawara senpai? What are you doing here? You don't really seem like the type of person to go to one of these,"

He seemed just as surprised to see you there,
"I kind of got... peer pressured,"

You chuckled,
"Really? You don't seem like someone who'd get pressured easily,"

His face heated up in embarrassment,
"I..."

"Look, you don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to. I'm just glad to have a friend here,"

The embarrassment started to dissipate,
"Same here,"

The two of you started talking, with Sugawara filling you in on things in the club you never got to see.

"Was Daichi really not gonna let them in?"

"I'm not too sure, but I'm glad it worked out in the end. We really needed more members,"

You took another drink of your soda before the host of mixer spoke up.

"NEW RULE EVERYONE! No leaving until you hook up with someone!"

You could hear some of the attendees cheering after hearing that, but you and your gray haired senpai grimaced. It seemed like you'd never be able to escape.

Then suddenly, you grabbed onto his wrist, and brought him to the door.

"Are you two a thing?"

Sugawara was about to deny it, but was cut off by your voices.

"Yup! We really clicked!"

He looked at you with shock, half unsure about what you were doing.

"Prove it,"

Sugawara thought this is where it was going to end, how would you be able to prove something like that? Unless...

He felt a pair of lips make contact with his cheek, and his whole face shone like a pink lightbulb. He felt your arm wrap around his shoulder,
"Is that enough proof?"

The guy at the door stared at the two of you for a moment before opening the door,
"I guess it is,"

The two of you walked out of the house, although it was more like you had to drag Sugawara out, as he'd frozen up like a statue.

As soon as the door closed, you put your hands together and bowed your head slightly,
"I'm sorry Sugawara senpai! I couldn't think of another way to get out!"

That's when Sugawara remembered that he was the upperclassman in this situation. He prepared to reprimand you, but he couldn't help but admit he enjoyed the kiss.

"You're forgiven, IF you promise not to tell anyone about... this,"

You gave him a thumbs up,
"Don't worry senpai! You can trust me!"

Noya's voice boomed throughout the whole gym.

"IS IT TRUE THAT YOU'RE DATING SUGAWARA SENPAI?"

Everyone's head turned towards you, and you could feel a dark aura approaching you from behind.

You felt a hand gripping onto your shoulder tightly. You kept your eyes locked on Noya, who seemed frightened of the presence behind you.

"H-hi Sugawara senpai, did you have a nice night?"

The smile on his face sent shivers down your spine,
"I think you know the answer,"

"I SWEAR I DIDNT TELL ANYONE!"

He kept staring into your soul, but he could tell that you were being truthful.

"Y-yeah! He didn't say anything! I found out by myself!"

Sugawara's gaze locked onto the short Libero, who was now frightened for his life.

"How."

"I-I WAS AT THE THING! AND THEN I SAW YOU TWO-"

Sugawara slapped a hand on his mouth, not wanted the whole world to hear what the short boy was saying.

After he finished dealing with Noya, he calmly approached you.

"Sorry about that (l/n),"

"It's fine, I totally would have done the same thing,"

The two of ended up going to the rest of the team to clear up any misunderstandings, just to make sure no rumors would be spread.

Some of them couldn't help but be relieved by the fact you weren't dating. Although Sugawara had to admit, for just a split second, he was happy someone thought the two of you were dating.
