You sank down into the steaming water while no one was looking, only your neck and above staying higher than the water's surface.
A satisfying sigh left you as the total feeling of warmth consumed you, making you forget about the harsh cold of the outside world.
Everything felt so peaceful, the quiet sounds of the water, and the all encompassing feeling of warmth. The only thing that'd make it better would be some music, but you weren't complaining.
"(L/n), could I sit next to you?"
You didn't bother looking towards the source of the voice, keeping your eyes closed as you nodded.
You could hear him make a satisfied noise as he entered the hot water beside you,
"Whew, that feels soooo nice, especially after that hike,"
You hummed in response, barely able to register anything he was saying. A silence soon took hold between the two of you.
"Wait, where's Kageyama?"
You opened your eyes to find him zonked out on the other side of the pool(?), lost in the comfort of the water.
The water around you shook as you laughed softly to yourself, a sight Sugawara felt lucky to see.
"We should probably wake him up. But I'm soooo comfortable... I'm sure it wouldn't be so bad if I left him there for a few minutes, right?"
The oldest of you three chuckled, feigning an annoyed look as he got up,
"Fine, I'll go wake him up,"
"Thanks a lot, senpai~"
You giggled to yourself as he trudged to the first year, going to wake him up. With the few moments you had alone, your mind began to drift.
It was nice having Sugawara around, he made it so you didn't have to manage everything on your own, and he was nice to hang around as well. He made things easier to manage, almost like he was your partner.
Partner.
Partner...
You shoved those thoughts to the deepest corners of your mind, promising not to let them out.
"(L/n)? Everything alright?"
Your eyes darted to the gray haired boy who was staring at you with a concerned look. You didn't respond, and the resulting prolonged eye-contact ended up making him feel flustered as well.
The three of you ended up soaking for a little while longer before decided to get out, putting your comfortable clothes on and sitting in the resting area of the bathhouse.
Suddenly you stood up walking away without a word, confusing the two setters. You came back holding three cartons of milk, handing one to each of them.
"I almost forgot, milk after a hot bath is always nice,"
They hesitantly drank the milk, and were surprised to find that you were right.
"Wow, you sure know a lot about this stuff, (l/n) senpai,"
You puffed your chest out slightly with pride,
"Well, when you become as amazing as I am, you learn a thing or two,"
Sugawara chuckled, tilting his head,
"Really now?"
Playing up the egotistical act, you nodded.
"Well then Mr. Amazing, I'm sure you'll be able to keep up with me and Kageyama in a volleyball match then,"
You shook your head nervously,
"I never said I was that amazing,"
