"Yamaguchi, wait up!"

You caught up to the tall freckled boy, who was currently walking to the gym for practice. He seemed confused as to why you needed to talk to him.

"I want to pay you back for dragging my ass to the infirmary! Want to go out for fries after practice? My treat!"

His face was dusted with pink, and his stomach growled at the thought of fries,
"Would I!"

You gave him another smile before he went to change, and you walked into the gym.

You weren't really in the mood to take any photos, but you did take a nice candid shot of the captain. He noticed you take the picture, and approached you.

"How'd it turn out?"

You showed him to photo, and smiled brightly,
"I think it turned out perfect! You look so good in this pic!"

He blushed slightly,
"You really think so?"

You zoomed in more,
"Of course!"

He wasn't too self conscious of his looks, and wasn't really trying to impress anyone with them, but hearing you compliment gave him butterflies in his stomach.

"All right everyone! Practice is over!"

The blonde walked up to his friend,
"Ready to go?"

"Oh, actually, me and (l/n) senpai were going to get fries! You can come with if you want to?"

He rolled his eyes,
"I'm good. Besides, my idiot brother is here to walk me home, so maybe it's a good thing we're not going together,"

He walked off, and Yamaguchi reassured you that the boy indeed, loved his brother dearly.

"He's just acting like that! He secretly looks up to him, he's like, the whole reason he got into volleyball,"

You hummed in response, leaving the gym and walking with your angel.

"Could I get two large fries please?"

"Sure! It'll be just a minute!"

You handed the cashier some money, and found a place to sit with Yamaguchi.

"You really didn't have to do this (l/n) senpai,"

You shook your head,
"You totally saved me, and I was craving fries anyways. Also, you don't need to be so formal to me outside of school, just (l/n) is fine."

"Oh, well then, thanks (l/n)!"

He gave you the most grateful smile he could muster, and you swore you could die right then and there.

The two of you ended up eating your fries faster than you could imagine, although you did see him sneak some of yours into his mouth.

You ended up walking him all the way to his house, where he departed from you.

"Thanks again (l/n)!"

You waved goodbye,
"Anytime Yamaguchi!"
