I'd rather die standin'
Than live on my knees
Begging please, no more
Black eyes, I don't need em'
Blue tears, give me freedom
Black eyes, all behind me
Blue tears will never find me now
Definitely found my self-esteem
Finally, I'm forever free to dream
No more crying in the corner
No excuses, no more bruises
Colby's POV;
After reviewing medical reports as well as Sam's audio phone recording and his testimony, the jury concluded that not only was Ryan mentally unstable but also guilty of domestic violence. Ryan of course was furious and was trying everything he could to flip the story and make me the abuser. But of course, he didn't have any evidence to convince the jury and judge. "I declare that Ryan Ortega is hereby sentenced to twenty years of jail plus five extra years of institutional help," the judge said while hitting his gravel.
My eyes filled up with tears of happiness as I hugged Sam, his parents, and my mom. "Why don't we celebrate by going out to dinner yeah?" Sam's mom said. We all agreed and we all made our way to Olive Garden for a celebratory dinner. During dinner, I finally felt happy and safe. I no longer felt scared and alone like how I used to. I was glad that I broke the chain of silence and told Sam. I'm finally free from Ryan, free from the pain, free from being scared. Ryan's gone and he can no longer hurt me anymore, I'm finally free.
