On the outside I am quite, I am focused, I am patient,
Inside me I am dying, I am nauseous, I am anxious,
On the outside I am trying, I am pushing towards a greatness,
Inside me there's a voice that tells me I will never make it,
On the outside I look like I really have it all together,
On the inside I'm just hoping that it gets a little better,
On the outside I look like someone you wouldn't want to trust,
On the inside I have nothing for the world to give but love,
On the outside I'm misunderstood, they all think I'm strong,
On the inside I am losing grip and barley holding on,
On the outside I am working hard and chasing down my dream,
On the inside I am struggling trying to keep the engine steamed,
On the outside I'm a warrior and nothing can defeat me,
On the inside I'm at war with thoughts that always try to cage me,
On the outside I just take a breath and hold my head up high,
On the inside I remind myself that it will be alright,
On the outside I am loved and have a family to embrace,
On the inside I am grateful I know we will find our place,
On the outside I am truly not the person that you see,
On the inside there is so much more that's hidden deep beneath...
