What Is Love?

Love is so confusing I don't think we ever plan for it,

But if the grass is greener I'll bring plants for it,

If we can laugh instead of cry and you will never leave my side,

That's a love that I can get down with, I'd stand for it,

I ain't known to ask for much, just your loving caring touch,

Be the one to hold me up on days I can't do it,

And I will do the same for you although I'm beaten and I'm bruised,

Our flowers blossom in the worst of the conditions,

They could rip off all the pedals while they're dancing through our meadows,

But they'd need to pull the roots to really get us,

They could try to burn our bridges but for you I would be swimming,

You had sparked a flame inside me when my light was so diminished,

When I thought my life was ending you said that I wasn't finished,

And you pushed me to keep writing til I did it,

A love we didn't plan where we mutually understand,

Now we're interlocked like fingers holding hands,

Our conversations a dance as we talk about our plans,

Sharing songs about the love we wished we had,

And on the days when it gets bad we always have each others back,

Twas a connection that was more than I could ask.

Love is so confusing I don't think we ever plan for it,

But if the grass is greener I'll bring plants for it,

If we can laugh instead of cry and you will never leave my side,

That's a love that I can get down with, I'd stand for it.
