Broken Father

Growing up I had dreams of a family and wife,

It was all that I wanted, had it locked in my sights,

I knew it'd be hard, it requires sacrifice,

But for them I would venture into the afterlife,

Leave no stone left unturned when my family is hurt,

I would be for my kids the father that I deserved,

No matter how hard it got I promised I'd make it work,

But it's a two player game and with one it just hurts,

I worry for my kids and all the moments that I'll miss,

I know they don't understand but papa's trying his best,

Distance between us doesn't make me love you any less,

Im just tryna fix the heart that's lying broken in my chest.
