"And here we are! Take a second to marvel in its beauty before I tell you the history," he paused. "So the cliff was created in-"
"Just shut up already!" Amber cried. "You've been talking for hours."
Disrespect to Icewing culture. Yeti thought to himself. He had been talking about ancient Icewings for a while but it was probably important information. It would definitely be important with his parents, who still practiced the ancient ways. He was just making sure they didn't offend anyone.
"How long is it supposed to take to get through border security?" Blackpearl asked. She looked exhausted, as usual. Boriel was supporting half her weight with her wing.
I could be doing that, Yeti sighed. He was getting sick of watching them together. The little demonstrations of how cute they were together was not helping his mood.
"I don't know, maybe 15 minutes? I've never been through border security," he muttered.
"Not even when your parents tried to throw you out?" Amber joked.
He flushed with anger. What gave Amber the right to make these jokes? She had no idea what would happen if she said something like that around his family.
"Just be quiet Amber," Boriel murmured, almost inaudibly.
"Oh so you're on Team Yeti now? Surprising considering he's still in love with your girlfriend."
This had Yeti seething. Just think about Pika. He told himself as if thinking about his best friend would help with his anger issues. At least no one was yelling at him to take deep breaths and count to ten.
"At least I didn't assault my friend when I got rejected," Yeti smirked, hoping this would press Amber's buttons.
"You did not-" Amber started, but she was cut off by a shrill sound in the distance.
Everyone turned towards the noise. A white-blue dragon was flying towards them at a steady pace holding a whistle. As he approached Yeti could see thick armor plates covering half his body. But the tattoos were what reminded him of Snowstar.
"Who are you?" The dragon's surprisingly deep voice asked. He showed them to a landing platform near the base of the cliff before Shard began to speak.
"Hello, I'm Shard. This is my girlfriend Cherry and our friends Yeti, Amber, Boriel and Blackpearl," he explained.
The guard nodded along but didn't look convinced. He was writing their names down on a piece of scroll from his pocket. "And you're here because...."
"We are visiting Yeti's parents, Abominable Snowman and Snowstorm. They live-uh- actually I don't know where they live but I'm sure we'll find them," Shard smiled, trying to be polite.
It wasn't working. "So you're not here to murder them? Or kidnap them?" He growled. "Who sent you?" He lunged at Shard threateningly, pushing him into the group.
Cherry's scales flashed red and she grabbed Shard, pulling him up. "NO ONE SENT US!" She screamed, glaring daggers at him.
Amber put a claw on her shoulder and whispered something in her ear.
Whatever it was, it seemed to make Cherry cheery again.
Yeti stepped forward and dipped his head towards the guard. He certainly had no respect for the guard but at least this might make him look respectable.
"I am extremely sorry about my friend, they just don't like assumptions. We are in fact here to visit my parents, I believe they live in a village near the capital," he said calmly.
"I'm sorry sir, but if you were telling the truth you would know that the borders are closed to everyone but the Icewings."
I DID IT! I BEAT THE WRITER'S BLOCK!
It took a month but I did it!
I think writing on paper was the trick to beating it.
Do you guys have any other strategies for writer's block?
(If you didn't know, I took this book down for a bit because of a really bad block)
Have a great day/night!
