The Island of Nosy Lehibe had been taken over by nature over the past few years, with no human contact. The prehistoric creatures adapted to their new habitat coexisting with the local species. However their old scars could not be healed, and the abuse those animals suffered are permanent, their bruises are still intact and showing but nature found its way to retribute the favor, giving them freedom and peaceful life in a human-free haven. But their long-lasting release would soon be over due to the investigators coming to officialize their rights and new respectful home, without proper care some animals did face their demise.

Inside their place, Waden began scrolling through his tablet to inform Yvelisse about some information, "Ever since our last visit these animals have been left to fend for themselves, the carnivores have been eliminating some of the species causing them to be endangered, without the proper care they have been rampaging uncontrollably since they never had access to more than 12 acres of territory. Also, the injuries the animals got when they approached the invisible fencing ultimately gave them burns, resulting in many infections being developed."

"How do you know all this?" Yvelisse asked, leaving forward curiously, "You've been here before?"

"Not personally no." he stated as he fixed his pair of glasses, "I flew over the island with a drone and checked on the specimens. The ones that mostly came to my attention were the pterosaurs that never seem to have left the island and the plesiosaurs that never ever attempted to jump over the wall keeping them away from the tunnel that gives them access to the open ocean."

Yvelisse then grabbed her face in confusion, "How do you know that?"

"I hacked into their system and collected information about the construction of this entire facility?" Waden scoffed, "It's really not that hard."

"Well if you say so." Yvelisse shrugged as she observed the wonderous island they were approaching.

The plane took a soft turn gazing over the magnificent sights of the paradisiacal island. The crew was able to catch a flock of diverse pterosaurs soaring on a rocky cliff, fishing, and dining on their meal for the day. As the plane delved more into the wild even more species were caught such as a Diplodocus peeking out of the leaves and chewing on leaves. As soon as it got a more clearer view of an open field almost every herbivore reborn was grazing peacefully on the fresh and natural grass along with the native animals.

"In case you're wondering." Waden responded smugly, "I took the liberty of checking on the animals you present some emotional attachment to."

"How is she." She asked talking about Pearl, the Pachyrhinosaurus that accompanied her through several survival situations, "She's all I care about on this island."

"I think we both know for a fact that is not even remotely close to the truth." Waden teased, "Your culture praises animals and says they are sacred beings responsible for the creation of the world we breathe and walk in."

"How do you know that." She questioned his alliance momentarily, "I need to know."

"I also needed to." He replied now roughly, "I had to understand your culture and how to communicate without being triggered due to your past situations."

Yvelisse laid back now staring outside as if she was an angry child, not responding.

As the plane began to land there was already a small base of operations set up near the abandoned landing track with a team of about three people involved. When the plane was parked the two researchers walked down the ladder to meet the commander of the group.

"Mornin' to yall." The man approached them with a flashing smile, "You can call me Commander Madden, listen I'm aware that Ms. Mora has had issues with my brother in the past but, we are different people, believe me."

"I could recognize that face anywhere." Yvelisse looked at him with disgust, "I will gladly work with you."

"Proud to say the feeling is mutual." He said with quite the same energy.

"Alright." Waden clapped his hands together in a leader type of way and jumped into specific, "How are things for the expedition."

"Weather seems fine, predators are on the other side of the island, only special seen close to base was a Dryosaur." Madden briefed the information so far, "Other than that we lost one of the crew during a perimeter check, cause of death unknown."

The two newly arrived members looked at each other with not much assertiveness, but they both knew what was coming their way, after all, it always ended the same way.
