SAM'S POV

I had been debating whether or not it was time to come back when I found my self walking in the same woods I had found myself in 4 years ago. I honestly wasn't planning on coming back yet. I knew I was ready and that I didn't have any more training to do for my abilities, but I was worried about what Dylan would think.

I had been keeping tabs on Dylan and his pack constantly since I left. My wolf wasn't going to forgive me if I just left and never got to see him. It was torture as it was. I had to live without my other half for 4 years. Four years without feeling complete. Four years without the love and security that came with having a mate.

I guess that was my fault, though. I just hope Dylan was ok and wasn't in too much pain from being separated. I don't know if I could forgive myself if something had happened over those 4 years.

I came back to reality when I smelled rogue near the pack house along with the shouts and cries that accompany a fight. I took off running before I started hopping from tree top to tree top fast and skillfully.

I got there just in time to see the last rogue sneak its way behind my mate without any one noticing. I would die before I let anything happen to my mate so I quickly took one of my silver arrows out of the quiver, attached it to the bow and let it fly into the rogues heart.

After years of training I found that I love using the bow and I was amazing at it. I never missed my target and with my homemade arrows the silver would penetrate the blood stream and kill the victim quicker.

After seeing the rogue drop dead I decided to see how this played out. So I hopped down out of the tree to land in a crouch with my bow still in my hand. When I looked up there was a sea of different emotions on every face, but I was only looking at one.

Let me just say he was shocked. I don't think it was possible that his eyes could get any bigger. His eyes were about to pop out of his head any minute now.

"Did you miss me?"

DYLAN'S POV

"Did you miss me?"

She... She... My... Oh. My. God. My mate was back and she was sexy. She had on what I'm guessing is her signature smirk. It said that she knew exactly what you were thinking.

I couldn't believe that she was back.  It had been so long since I had last seen her that I doubted that she really would come back.  Four years and I finally get to have my mate.  Her bright golden blond hair was longer now and framed her face perfectly.  I had thought her eyes were blue four years ago, I think they're even brighter than before.  My mate was perfect and she just saved my life.

"You're back."  I said almost to myself.

"Yeah I am.  How is it that the rogues made it past your patrols?"  She asked me in an all business tone.

"Our patrols were just switching and they probably snuck in.  It's no big deal they didn't do any harm." I told her.

"Tell everyone to go inside the pack house."

I yelled for everyone to go inside and told them that there would be a pack meeting in a few hours to discuss the rogue problem.

I needed to ask her something before she tried changing the subject.  "What's your name?"  It's strange that for four years I have been dreaming about her and I never even knew her name.

She opened her mouth to speak, but took a breath through her nose instead.  She immediately turned around while taking an arrow out of her quiver and preparing her bow before she was even all the way around.  It took barely 5 seconds for her to turn prepare and shoot.  It was amazing until I realized where the arrow was heading.

I had just looked around her in time to see another rogue drop dead.  I had thought that my pack killed them all but it looks like one slipped through.

It didn't register until my mate was running incredibly fast towards the rogue.  The rogue had been carrying something that it was now dropping.  That something turned out to be a kid.

SAM'S POV

I was just about to tell Dylan my name when I caught another scent in the air.  It was the scent of a rogue and it was mixed with a scent that has been close to my heart for almost 4 years.

I turned around at blinding speed and let the arrow fly before Dylan could even blink.  The arrow had just pierced the rogue heart when I started running toward her.  I knew she was the one that was being carried the minute I smelled her mango scent.

"Sky!"  Sky Evergreen.  My mate's little sister whom I loved dearly.

When I reached her I picked her up as she silently cried into my neck.

"Sammy!  I was so scared. I didn't know what to do.  I'm sorry I should have done something to stop him, but I froze."  She sobbed helplessly as she ranted on.

"Hey, Sky, it's fine.  You couldn't have done anything.  The rogue was stronger than you and you don't fully know how to fight yet.  Shhhhhhh. It's ok."

I should probably explain.  I knew Skylar.  I had for about four years.  She was the one who told me about the pack and what happens when I'm not here.  I visit her often and I love her dearly.  She's like family to me and always will be.

"Sky?  How do you know my mate?"  The voice came from behind me and I knew exactly who it was.

"Sammy's my friend."  Skylar said.

Skylar was scared to give her brother the full truth because she knew that he would be upset.  I answered for her as I could see that she couldn't.

"I met Skylar by the lake at the border of your territory about 4 years ago.  I had seen a little five year old sitting on one of the rocks by the water and my wolf and I didn't like how alone and sad she looked so we went up to her.  We didn't like her being so close to the border because I was already protective of her so I decided to walk her back here where she was safe.  I have kept in touch with Sky for the past years and have been her friend when no one else was."

Dylan turned his attention back to his sister and he didn't look happy.

"You kept this from me?   Even when you knew how much I wanted to find her?  You couldn't even give me her name?!"  He shouted at his little sister who cringed into my shoulder with a whimper.  I growled at Dylan when I heard her whimper.

"How dare you yell at your sister like that."  I said through clenched teeth.  I was upset, but wouldn't let my temper get the better of me.  "I couldn't have anybody knowing I was here because it wasn't safe.  I knew Sky wouldn't tell anybody so I trusted her.  I also couldn't just leave you and your pack alone so she told me about what was going on and how you were doing.  And you will not yell at Skylar like that again or else you will not like the consequences."

Dylan looked around because he knew he was wrong in yelling at his sister in an Alpha voice.

"Why didn't you tell me?  I could have helped you.  Why would you trust a 5 year old at the time instead of me, your own mate?"  I could hear the hurt in his voice as he spoke.

"It didn't matter if I trusted you or not.  Anybody would be able to tell if you had seen me or spoken to me because you would have acted like a little kid at Christmas."  I told him with honesty.

I saw his cheeks flush a light pink as his sister giggled at my kid on Christmas comment.

I set Skylar down and told her to head upstairs and I would be up in a little bit.

"So, your name's Sam then?"  Dylan asked me when Sky got in the house.

"Yeah it is, but right now that's not important because there is business that needs to be done.  I need you to call the Elders and set up a meeting right now.  This can't wait."  I made sure that there was no hint of a joke in my voice becasue I was dead serious.  I couldn't let the Elders go clueless any longer.
