SAM'S POV
"How come you all never told anybody what really happened to the Bloodrose pack?"
They all snuck a glance at each other before turning their attention back to me. Mr. Bitter Colten over there was the one to talk next. Actually snapped was more like it.
"And what does a little wolf like yourself know about the Bloodrose pack?"
"I know that they weren't overtaken by rogues and that you are all hiding the truth from every Alpha in the world. Do you not realize that the Darkness isn't finished?"
They all paled at the mention of the Darkness. So I guess they did know about it.
"We are leaving, this is no matter to be spoken about to a young immature wolf like yourself." I was surprised that it was Alpha Mako who spoke. Mako was known for being silent, he rarely spoke to anyone other than the other 4 Alphas and his mate.
They needed to listen to me. I couldn't let them leave or else they would never inform any of the Alphas. They needed to know. I had never told anybody what I was about to say next, but it was the only way to make them listen. With my eyes closed I took a deep breath before I told them the truth.
"Not even if you were speaking to Samantha Bloodrose?"
There was no noise at all. I could feel every eye watching me. I had their attention now and this was the only chance I would get to tell them.
"The Darkness is growing everyday and by hiding it from the Alphas you're leaving them unprepared and unable to keep their pack even remotely safe." I turned to Jasper for the next part. "My father always said that you were noble and before the attack he always told me that I could trust you because you would know what to do. I never came to you though because I coudn't. If I did I wouldn't have been able to learn anything that I needed to know"
Jasper's eyes had looked misty when I brought up my father. He rose and came over to me before pulling me into a bear hug.
"Oh, Sammy, I am so sorry. I should have known it was you." He chuckled slightly. "You always were a spitball of fire. I'm glad that you trusted your gut when you didn't come to me. I'm not sure how much of a help I would have really been anyway."
"There's more to the story isn't there? More than even we know. You were the one that left us the note 8 years ago saying that we needed to be prepared, wasn't it?" It was Mako who was able to put a few of the pieces together. I pulled apart from Jasper to lean against the wall. This was only going to get harder.
"Yes, there is more and yes it was me. I tried warning you about what was coming, but it was the night that it happened and I had to keep running or else they would find me. My parents had told me that the Darkness was coming. They knew about the attack and so did my pack. They just didn't know when it would happen. Two nights before the attack my parents made me promise that I would fight when the time was right, but that I had to run and get away when the Darkness came because it was not the right time." I looked Dylan right in the eyes so he knew what I was referencing to. "My whole pack died for me. They gave their lives so I could live. I promised myself that I wouldn't let that happen again." I looked down shaking my head slightly as I remembered my pack's lifeless bodies as they fought so I could be safe.
I was dreading the next question that I knew they had to ask. My pack members were the only ones to ever know the truth.
"Why were you so important that everyone gave their lives up so you could live?" Darn Alpha Zuko. Now you choose to ask me something. I'm guessing that he was the one who was able to process what I had said the fastest.
"I-I'm.....I'm different." I couldn't find it in me to answer them. The way Dylan was looking at me... it broke my heart. He seemed to be waiting to hear that I made them give their lives for me, waiting to hear that it was something that I did wrong.
Jasper got up to come over to me, but it was at that moment that I stiffened because I felt it. Something wasn't right. Someone was here. I followed my gut and went to the front door only to find no one there. By this point the Elders and Dylan were looking at me like I was crazy. It was when I looked down that I saw it. There was a card with a small box under it. The card was addressed to me.
I growled when I recognized the card. I had gotten these before and they always led to trouble in the past.
"What is it?" Dylan asked coming to stand next to me.
"This is the beginning of trouble. It's not the first time I've gotten one. And it's from a third party, not someone with Darkness, but not someone behind me that I know either. They aren't really against me they are usually just a warning of something that's going to happen that I need to watch out for."
I nodded my head to indicate the Alphas to follow me back to the meeting room. When we got there I again waited for everyone else to get in before I shut the door. I proceeded to open the card as everyone took their seat. These were often not something that should be read aloud as they gave away information about myself so I read it to myself while I made the Alphas wait, much to their dismay.
To The Beloved: Silver
Hello again, Silver. I remember the last time I sent you a present was on your 18th birthday. I warned you that there was trouble coming to the Silver Legend pack. I was correct, wasn't I. I think it's time that you know that I'm not an enemy. I'm a friend. I've been looking out for you since the attack 8 years ago. I was raised to believe in the Silver Legends that spoke of the wolf that would one day save us. I knew that you would come and that I would do whatever I could to help you. I could not meet you because it is too dangerous for me and you.
My family has been the guardian of the moonstone for centuries. It was said that the Silver Wolf would use it's power to defeat the Darkness and save us all. It is your job to find the stone and learn how to use it. Our lives are depending on it and I hope that I'm alive to get to see you succeed.
From A Friend: Lillith <3
So long had I wondered about who sent the warnings all these years. I never knew that there were people out there who still believed in the legends.
I looked up from the note to look at the Alphas who were all looking at me expectantly. It wasn't until Dylan looked at my hands that I realized that I still had the box. I hesitantly opened the latch on the box only to find it empty.
"There's nothing in it." I stated. It was as I said it that I saw a tiny latch in the bottom that probably held another compartment. Obviously Lillith didn't want anyone else to know about what was in the box so I decided to check later.
"Well what did the note say? And you still owe us an explanation to the question you ignored before this nonsense came." Alpha Colten. This guy was starting to get on my nerves. The way he kept talking to me suggested that he thought I was going to try something on them.
"First of all, don't talk to me like that." I sneered out with more power in my voice than necessary. "Second, the note is from a friend offering advice. There's nothing of importance in it that applies to you in any way shape or form. And third, I technically did answer your question. I said I was different, that was my answer."
"Why does the note say to Silver?" Damn it, Alpha Richard. I completely forgot how Lillith started the letter. Well I guess this was my way of being able to break it to them.
"Fine, you really want to know? I guess you kind of have to know if you guys are going to help." I sighed in defeat. "I'm different, like I said before. It says to Silver because I'm the Silver Wolf, the Silver Savior."
