Chapter 21: Meet the Love of Your Life ♡

Rica's POV

The next day, I decided to let John meet Korey. Jen and I aren't that suitable for him.

"Hey, Rica. I'm kinda nervous to mee this guy." Korey said as she was standing beside me.

I stood up and gave her a hug. "It'll be all right."

"You think so?"

"Korey, you are a beautiful woman! Your smile is charming and you look like an angel! Just believe in yourself."

Korey smiled and we went to John's place.

*At John's house*

"Hello?" I knocked on the main door.

"Yes, miss?" a guy with blonde hair answered.

"Oh uh... hello. Who are you?"

"I'm Pat, John's brother."

"Is John in there?"

"Yes, come in."

Korey and I went in. I looked for John and he was sitting on his bed upstairs. He was clutching his shot arm.

"Hi, John! Does it still hurts?"

John cracked a smile and nodded.

I beckoned Korey to come into John's room.

"Korey this is-"

John's POV

"Korey this is John. John this is Korey." Rica introduced us.

Okay, first of all this Korey girl is beautiful. She's so gorgeous and cute.

"Hi, Korey."

Korey didn't say anything she just waved at me. She's a shy person I guess.

"Korey, will you excuse us for a moment?"

"Sure."

Korey went downstairs leaving Rica and I.

"What's going on here?" I asked her.

"John, you can't choose me or Jen. You should choose Korey."

"What?! That's too sudden."

"I know. But you need to protect her. Korey's life is in danger and you're the one I know that could protect her. Please, do it for me. I've seen it in your eyes. You think she's pretty then... marry her."

"Why is her life in danger?"

*Korey's Flashback*
Third Person POV

"Mom, stop!" Korey was hiding under her bed from her abusive mother who whipped her and slapped her for hours.

"Come out come out wherever you are!" her mother said in a scary tone.

Korey was whimpering. Her mother heard her and she pulled Korey away. Korey was a mess. Her hair was all tangled up, her clothes were tattered, her face and body has cuts and bruises, and all her wounds were bleeding.

"Help!!!" she shouted.

Korey's neighbor saw what was happening and she immediately dialed 911.

The cops reached the house just in time before Korey's mother could kill her.

"You'll regret this, Korene Marie!" she yelled.

*End of Flashback*

"But Korey's mom is imprison."

"The court has ordered that after a decade, they're going to release her. And it's already been a decade. You have to be with her, John!"

"Well I guess all of our childhood is screwed up!" I lied back down the bed.
"Call Jen. I've made my mind up." I added.
