John's POV
Rica got out of the hospital 5 days ago. We talked to Ben but he said he's not taking responsibility of the baby. How could he? He's the father of this innocent baby! It's his own flesh and blood that made it.
*Flashback*
No One's POV
John, Rica, and Jen got back to the Skillet house to talk with Ben. Ben is seen watching T.V.
"Ben." John called out to him.
"Yeah?"
"Turn off the T.V please."
Ben grunted and switched the T.V off. John carried Rica and laid her down the couch. Jen sat beside Ben who is fixing his angry look on Rica.
"John, why did you bring her here?" Ben sounded annoyed.
John took a sit next to Rica and pointed to her womb.
"Are you responsible of it?"
"Responsible of what? I can't see anything."
"Don't play dumb! It's because it's just a month! Rica is pregnant with you!" Jen snapped.
"Oh. That one." Ben scratched his head.
Jen growled and slapped him. "Why, Ben?"
Ben looked up the ceiling and began telling how it happened. "It was the month before our next chapter. I bumped on Rica in the streets. She was cold, lonely, and drunk. She won't tell me where she lives so I decided to take her to my apartment till morning so her hangover will vanish. But then she started crying and yelling how much she is yearning for John."
Ben stopped to scan the room. Jen was playing with her wristbands while Rica and John kept on exchanging uncomfortable looks. Ben continued.
"I took pity on her. I told her that John is with a better family now and she needs to let him go. She pulled me down with her on the bed and kept on saying, "I love you, John." And I got jealous and seduced and blah blah and it all happened. Everything happpened so fast and it was too late when we found out what we did. So when I found out that she was pregnant, it made me so nervous having her around."
Silence filled the room after Ben told that long story. Jen leaned down and massaged her head. Rica covered her face in shame and John pondered on what's going to happen next.
"I'm not taking responsbility of that baby." Ben finally said.
"What?! It's your daughter, Ben." John protested.
"That isn't my baby! It's never going to be my daughter! If you want, you could abort it."
"What's got into you, Ben? It's God's creation we are talking about here!"
Rica shakily rose up from the couch and walked to the main door.
"Where are you going?" John asked standing up.
"It's fine. If you guys won't help me, I'll be better off on my own."
"No no no! If no one will, I will!"
"John! What about Korey?" Jen reminded John.
"I know. There's nothing wrong with helping a friend right?"
"Yeah, but what if you fall-"
"It won't happen. I'll... try."
"Just go already!" Ben opened the front door for them.
John and Rica got out.
"Disrespectful brat! This is my house!" John grumbled.
*End of Flashback*
