Alexandria's POV (Yeah! xD)

"Help! My husband ran away!"

I heard my mother, Korey, say a police officer.

"Alex, is Daddy going to be fine?" Xavier asked me, tears brimming in his eyes.

"Daddy's fine. He just went for a walk. Mom is worrying too much."

I hugged my brother tightly. So many things are happening and I'm the only one who can protect my little brother from getting depressed. Mom couldn't even take the responsibility. They're too much caught up with this petty affair.

"Hey, wanna go out and play?" I questioned Xav.

He beamed and nodded. We tiptoed to the exit without our busy mother noticing us. It's stupid to play here outside the dark but it's the only method that I can use to shield all the traumatizing events from Xavier.

"What do you wanna play, Xav?" I asked him.

He poked me and said, "Tagged! You're on it."

Ugh! Didn't see that coming. He's always that sneaky. Watch out, Xav! I'm coming for you.

I giggled and chased him.

It has been a long time since we've played. All we could do was to stay put inside thr house. Scotty, the band manager, kept on making excuses that Mom and Dad just went on a tour while we were sleeping.

But I knew better.

I knew that something was wrong. I sneaked outside one day and found out that they were in a huge affair. You know how?

I saw Daddy walking with a pregnant woman. Whoever she was I knew that she was Dad's other woman. Scotty eventually busted me. Instead of getting angry, he apologized for lying. So, here we are... still swallowing the whole truth.

"Hurry, Alex! Come and get me." Xavier shouted at me while running into the woods.

"Xavier, wait! Don't go in there! It's very hazardous." I panted.

Man, he was fast! Xavier really acts like Dad. He even got Dad's hyper-active personality. Unlike me, I got Mom's. I'm really quiet.

I didn't catch Xavier. We went deeper and deeper into the woods. He finally stopped from running and looked back to me, horror in his eyes.

"What?" I was still panting.

"Alex, I think we're... lost."

"Huh?"

I looked back too. He was right. We're lost! I'm such a failure! I failed at keeping us safe.

The path was covered up with tall trees. I'm not famillar with this forest so, I don't know which way to go. I've never been lost either. I'm scared. What if we starved here? No one can hear nor help us.

Xav started to cry. I walked over to him and gave him a hug.

"Sssh... ssh. We're going to be fine, I promise."

Even though I don't knoe what to do.

"Help! HELP!" Xavier cried out.

"Don't shout like that! Some of the wild animals might hear you."

He didn't stop. He screamed and screamed on top of his lungs. He almost busted my eardrums out. His endless blood curdling screams lured a huge wolf near us.

"Alex... sorry." he whispered to me.

I didn't respond. My eyes were fixed on the creature. I slowly took a step back.

"Xav, at the count of three... I want you to run."

"What?!"

"1...2...3!!

Xavier ran. I followed behind him. If the wolf manages to attack us, he will have to go through me first.  Because that's what big siblings do.

The wolf was still chasing us. We dodged a lot of tress and some traps that some hunters crafted. We dodged a bear trap and the wolf accidentally leaped on it which trapped its leg.

"Aaah!" Xav screamed again.

I know why he screamed. The trapped leg of the wolf was disgusting to look at. The bear trap's sharp edges was piercing through its leg. The crimson fluid was flowing down along with chunks of flesh. The metallic scent filled the atmosphere.

"Xav, close your eyes."

He did as I told him and I put my hand on his shoulder. I helped him walk. We walked for hours in this dark forest. I was already getting hungry. Luckily, we saw a dim lit cabin.

"You think someone's in there?" he asked me.

"Let's find out."

I knocked on the wooden door bur there was no reply. I reluctantly opened the door. And we witnessed a gruesome site.

Dad was lying on the floor with multiple cuts on his body, including his wrist. There was also a bloody 'SORRY' on his arm.

His mouth and neck frightened me the most. It was burnt up with acid. His mouth was emitting a white substance. It's like he's choking it out. His eyes were tightly closed. I can still hear faint gurgling sounds from him. And his breathings are getting rapid and more rapid.

This was done recently, I believe. Why did he try to poison himself?

We ran to his side. Xavier hugged him tightly and cried on his chest. While I keep on shaking his bloody hands.

"Dad, wake up! Please don't leave us!" we said in unison.

Tears were falling down from our eyes. It just got heavier and heavier until it blurred my vision. I don't even know if he can hear us. We cried and cried for help.

"John?!"

I looked up and saw Mom with a couple of cops behind her. They have the same expression- shock.

Mom rushed to his side and hugged him.

The officers carried Dad back to the hospital. We followed behind them. Xavier was trembling so badly. I couldn't blame him. What we saw will scar us for life!

"Oh my gosh. I hope we'll make it in time." Mom whispered to herself.

I hope so, Mom. 'Cause if we lose Dad, I'll never be able to forgive all of you.

(A/N: So despite me being super upset, I still made the effort to publish a chapter. Hope you enjoyed, panheads...*faking a smile*)
