Billie's pov--->

"max" I turn my phone off turning around.

"hm" she replays with.

"I was thinking about something" She closes her laptop and books then joins me on the couch.

"what's up"

"what's ray to you" I look at the table.

"Ray is just a friend, why do you ask?" She gives a smile

"i dont know sorry" I put my hands on my face letting out a giant sigh. She doesn't say anything then her phone rings.

"ill be back" She tells me grabbing her phone and walks away. I look up at the ceiling looking at the ceiling fan spinning around.

i waited 10 minutes and max never came back. I got up and walked around looking for max. She sat on her bed smiling her ass off still talking.

"ok then" I whispered to myself and shut the door a little to loud. i grabbed my jacket slipping it on and my shoes. Before i walked out max came downstairs looking at me while i shut the door fully.

I hopped into my car and drove off. Yes I know it's so stupid to act like this but something inside of me just wants to burst.

I get to finneas' house and just walk inside. he's on the couch with Claudia as they watch a movie.

"Billie?" I hear Claudia but I ignore her and walk straight to the studio.

oh the love of music.

"Billie" finneas pokes his head in. I had my notebook laid out Infront of me scanning the pages. humming a tune.

"what's the first lyric you have down" he stands next to me.

I hear a faint click on the window as i woke up from the nap it took. As in I fell asleep around 11 and woke up at 1. I get up out of the guest bed walking over towards it looking down.

A figure stood there, hand open, hair waving in the wind as her beanie covered the top. They grabbed another object in their hand which i would believe to be small rocks.

"Max" I yawned and leaned on the window. I heard her faint laugh that slipped through the lips of hers.

"May i come in" She asked me. I watched her as she tipped her hand over, letting the little rocks pour into the grass.

"Sure" I shut the window then walked downstairs quietly. I opened the door to a taller human infront of me. "Be quiet finneas and Claudia are sleeping and it's 1 in the morning"

I didn't hear a thing come out of her mouth as we walked to the guest bedroom. My clothes from the day sat on the floor, splattered like paint.

"What happened" I crawled into the bed that i was peacefully sleeping in a few moments ago. She sat on the edge looking at me for a answer.

"I don't know" I pulled the blanket above my shoulders.

"What do you mean you don't know" She slipped her shoes off waiting for a answer. I just looked at the tapestry that hung on the wall.

"I just don't know there's nothing else to it" I took a deep breath in letting it set for a few seconds then let it out. I heard her sigh and a few more movements. "How did you even know I was at fins"

"I went over to Maggie's house and she said she didn't see you so I checked your room. Then I went to the library and then came here and found you" She took her beanie off and ruffled her hair out.

"well if you're going to stay, change and go to sleep" I yawn at her. she nods as my eyes get heavy and my mind wanders into the great beyond.

Max's pov--->

I woke up to the alarm clock and stretched. Billie was no where to be seen and the house was really quiet. not even the little clicks of the dogs.

I make my way downstairs grabbing a bowl along with cereal then turned the tv on.

Automotive workshop burnt down overnight leaving nothing behind except ashes.

I make sure I see it right. it was Patricks shop. I set everything that I was doing down and run to my car driving off to the building.

when I got there, red lights, blue lights, and the cars were all there. I saw the neon green roots in a far distance so I ran over.

"wha- what happened" I look at Patrick. He looks at the ashes that was once the building.

"I guess there was a fire and no one noticed it until it was to late" You could hear the tiredness in his voice. I swallow hard then feel the tight grip of the grass head on my arm.

"dad we can rebuild it" Her voice shook so little yet sounded so big.

"There's no need. I was going to have to shut it down one day anyway" He walked away shortly after.

"let's go home" Maggie told all of us. I got into my car and drove back to my house instead of Maggie's.

I shut the door while the oh so fresh smell of wood hit my nose. I look around at the empty feeling house. I eventually did small chores around the house to make it tidy.

the door bell rings as I was sweeping the rest of the kitchen floor.

"how about a muffin dear?"
