THE FOURTH
surprise guests and interrogations
━━━━✦❘༻✶༺❘✦━━━━THE KNOCK ON Diana's door was startling considering the early hour of the morning. It was even more startling that with just a bit of red mist, the door was unlocked and opened before Diana could reach it. Wanda had stepped inside and shut the door behind her, locking it and going around, shutting the blinds with a flick of her fingers.
"Wanda—"
She was promptly shushed as she shut her eyes, looking like she was concentrating on something, the mist that was balled up in a tight, angry sphere of energy. When she finally relaxed a bit, the red energy disappeared.
That's when Diana finally noticed the outfit, her eyebrows furrowing.
"Are you wearing a cape and a tiara?" Diana asked. Wanda looked down at her clothes and after a wave of energy, she was in jeans and a t-shirt.
Diana widened her eyes as the display of abilities, the commotion had Nat's curious self waddling into the room, chirping her small meow to greet the unexpected visitor. The purring ensued after that when she rubbed against Diana's calf.
"When you touched the stone, did you see anything?" Wanda asked, not even acknowledging the small tabby.
There was a strange look in her friends eyes, a bit of graying that dusted the tips of her fingers. Diana narrowed her eyes, her head tilting. She hadn't seen Wanda in person since the funeral, something wasn't right about her now, Diana could sense it.
"Wanda, what happened in Westview?" Diana asked, "you realize that you're on the news?"
Wanda huffed as she walked over to the couch and unceremoniously plopped down, her face going into her hands.
"I awakened something— someone— in me and I need to know if there's someone like that in you, I've read almost every page in the Darkhold but it's faster to just ask you, Pietro had never mentioned seeing anyone, but I also didn't remember seeing her until—" she cut herself off and looked up at Diana, revealing teary eyes, "I've made mistakes, but I need to understand who I am to fix them."
Diana was quick to join Wanda on the couch, pulling her friend into one of her tightest hugs ever given. Quiet sobs wracked through Wanda's body. Diana felt compelled to stroke Wanda's head as she worked through it.
"I'll be honest with you Wanda, I have trouble remembering most of that day," Diana admitted, "I was so delirious, I thought it was an illusion, and I had thought it was an illusion up until the day that Ultron was born."
"So you didn't have any visions when you touched the stone?" Wanda's accented words were warbly as she spoke through tears.
"No, I was just flung into the wall and I hit a scientist with a blast after I went blonde, I'm sorry Wanda, I truly wish I could help you more with this." Diana held Wanda's face with her hands, "you know how much I love you and it hurts me to see you like this, but if there's anything and I mean anything you need from me, just call me, I'll never be too busy for you."
