"Daryl, you cover the back," Shane says as they walk in. They look around the big clean hall for a while.

A gun cocks and everybody looks around but Genny and Daryl who keep their weapons ready to the doors. Genny's eyes fall on Daryl as he looks outside with his muscles tensed up.

She remembers his scars and wonders if he remembers hers. "Genny, you got anything you want to bring in?" Glenn asks.

She shakes her head. "I've got new clothes in your bag. The rest doesn't matter for now," she says making him nod.

After grabbing their stuff the group follows the doctor to zone 5. He talks to a computer named Vi before he takes blood tests from everyone.

Genny stands up after having hers taken with some reluctancy because of the physical contact. She almost faints but Daryl grabs her arms making her flinch at his sudden touch.

Glenn walks forward with Jacky and carol who take Genny away to sit on the stairs. "What's up with her?" Jenner asks Glenn.

"Nothing important," he says looking at her as she talks with Dale.

They all go downstairs to the cafeteria where they eat. Genny eats as far away from anyone as possible only saying things to Glenn, Dale and Carol in a whisper.

She is mostly in her own mind occasionally having eye contact with Daryl who refills her beer. She doesn't move when he's around her making him scared that he screwed up his chances with her.

When they've all eaten Jenner takes them to their sleeping quarters. Genny goes into a room and looks around for a few minutes before taking off her shoes. She takes off her shirt and sits on the couch with her hands on her face.

She gets up and walks over to the shower. She stands under it for an hour. When she gets out she puts on clean clothes. She sits on the couch before getting up and walks to the rev room Jenner was talking about.

Dale walks through the hallway making her stop. "Hey, you wanna go to that rev room? Maybe they've got some new books for you," she smiles.

"Nothing special for me. But they do have Harry Potter. You should have a great time in there. But don't make it to late," he says pointing his finger at her with a warning look.

"Yes, father," she smiles walking away.

He laughs as she disappears into the rev room. "You're gonna be my death," he says walking to his own room.

She looks around it until her eyes fall on a few books. She smiles picking it up and sits on the couch as she starts reading it. Someone walks in as she's almost done reading it and she looks up.

Daryl looks around the room before his eyes fall on her. "Hey," he says with a shy smile.

She smiles before turning back to her book. "Whatcha reading?" He asks sitting on the floor so he can also read a little.

She smiles looking up at him, "Harry potter." She says with a red face.

"Really? A kid waving around with a stick? I can do that too," he scoffs.

Genny laughs softly and he goes deep red. "That came out wrong. I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry," he smiles shaking his head.

She puts her hand over his. "It's okay. It was a good comment," she says smiling.

"Scoot over," he says with a smile while getting up.

She lets him lay down next her as he holds the book while she lays her head on his chest. His arm goes around her back and rests on her waist. While reading the second book for her he stops making her look up at him.
