"Dale could, could get under your skin. He sure got under mine, because he wasn't afraid to say exactly what he thought, how he felt. That kind of honesty is rare and brave. Whenever I'd make a decision, I'd look at dale. He'd be looking back at me with that look he had. We've all seen it one time or another. I couldn't always read him, but he could read us. He saw people for who they were. He knew things about us, the truth, who we really are. In the end, he was talking about losing our humanity. He said this group was broken. The best way to honor him is to unbreak it. Set aside our differences and pull together," Genny and Daryl make eye contact and she nods at him.

He nods back before turning his attention back to Rick, "stop feeling sorry for ourselves and take control of our lives...our safety...our future. We're not broken. We're gonna prove him wrong. From now on, we're gonna do it his way. That's how we honor dale." Rick continues his speech.

Genny wasn't there when Dale died because Rick held her back and Glenn took her away. They only heard the shot making Genny collapse to her knees letting out a scream of grief.

Genny lays in the rv after Dale's funeral and Daryl walks into the room. "Hey," he says softly as he sits down by her feet.

She wipes away her tears before sitting up, "hey." She sighs folding her legs and pulling the sleeves of her hoodie over her hands.

"Listen," he starts but she shakes her head.

"We're good. I just overreacted when you only wanted me to know that you understand if I don't want to talk. I'm sorry for slapping you," she says looking at her hands.

He sits closer grabbing her hands. "It's okay, you give a mean slap," he chuckles moving his free hand over her cheek.

She chuckles looking up at him. She moves her hand over his cheek. "You're still handsome, just got a red hand on your cheek," she smiles.

"Handsome, huh?" He asks with a charming smirk.

She leans closer and kisses him softly, "yes, very handsome." She smiles sitting back down.

Later that day Genny walks out of the house with the group. "What's wrong?" Lori asks.

"Randall's missing," Glenn says.

"Missing? How?" Genny asks worried.

"How long's he been gone?" Hershel asks.

"What's going on?" Andrea asks the group.

"It's hard to say," Hershel says as Genny moves her hands through her hair.

"The cuffs are still hooked. He must've slipped on 'em," Rick says walking out of the shed.

"Is that possible?" Carol asks worried and confused.

"It is if you've got nothing to lose," Andrea says walking out of the shed.

"The door was secured from the outside," Hershel says closing the door.

Daryl walks over to Genny and grabs her arm. She looks at him worried as he goes to say something but Shane walks out of the woods. Rick starts telling people what to do and Daryl looks at Genny.

"No, I don't want you to go," she says shaking her head.

He kisses her before walking off. "I'll be fine," he says.

T-dog drags her in the house where she is put in a spare bedroom by Hershel. He checks on her for the last time before he leaves her alone.
