There's something about the way
that you always see the pretty view
Overlook the blooded mess, always lookin' effortless
And still you, still you want me
I got no innocence, faith ain't no privilege
I am a deck of cards, vice or a game of hearts

song: next to me, imagine dragons

a/n: from now on, i'll add a song in the beginning of the chapter if I think it fits <3This one is Hirdie from top to bottom

Before driving me back to Harry's house, Raphael made a quick detour to drop Sadie at the church. Apparently, Luke texted her saying he was going back to the flat when we were still at my parents. It didn't bother me, though; I was looking forward to being alone with Harry again.

I had no idea how I'd find him once I arrived. His first reaction when Sadie suggested I'd stay in his place hasn't left my mind; he didn't seem quite pleased at first. Although right afterwards he was adamant about me staying with him and not at Luke's, I still think the delay in his response was weird.

I know how careful he is about his personal space, I remember Kim and Vivien saying Harry barely receives friends in his house, and Dot being so mad that Timmy almost never invites her over. It's clear he doesn't want other people walking around his place, why would it be different with me?

No need to say, I was a nervous wreck when Raphael finally parked in front of his house and helped me with my carry-on. I didn't actually bring everything, just one suitcase with my essentials for a few days, because I didn't want my parents to think I'm gonna leave Dot all alone at home once they're away. Whilst Raphael returned to the car, I entered the house alone, walking into the sumptuous foyer with my heart slamming against the back of my throat.

At first, I only noticed one of the girls from the house staff, midway through coming up the stairs with what I guessed to be Mrs. Styles breakfast on a trail. She looked over her shoulder, smiling politely at me.

"Good morning," she said, halting her steps. "Mr. Styles had to leave, but he'll be back soon. He asked me to tell you to make yourself at home while he's gone."

Where did he go?

"Okay, thank you so much!" I smiled at her. "It's Mary-Anne, right?"

She nodded, smiling widely. "I'll be at Mrs. Styles wing, but if you need anything, just call Arthur or any of the staff, we'll be glad to help."

"Thank you." I smiled with a nod, feeling a bit shy. I'd never had anyone working for me at my own house, it's so odd to give orders or think of people standing by to do things for me in someone else's place.

I wasn't very hungry, having stuffed my face with coffee and cookies only a couple of hours prior, so I just went upstairs to his room, taking my carry-on luggage with me. All the emotions from the morning finally started to sink in and I suddenly felt extremely tired, my eyes were so heavy I could barely keep them open.

Taking off my clothes, I crawled under the covers on the bed, curling on my side. The bed smelled like Harry does after showering; a bubbly combination of soap and fresh vanilla. With the soft duvet against my skin and the comfortable mattress bending underneath my body, it was the perfect combo for me to fall asleep almost immediately.

I must've slept for 2, maybe 3 hours, before waking up to the comforting scent of his bed, only now it is ten times more powerful than before. Opening my eyes, it doesn't take me long to understand why - Harry is in the bed with me.
