New Brothers

I was asleep when I heard dad talking and my ears pucked up my ex-best friends names. I just ignored everything he said as I lay there. I hear the door open and close again before the lock goes.

Dad places a hand on my shoulder and I open my eyes, "Hey they said he can leave the hospital and come with us to the casino. I'll have the casino doctor look at him as well, get dressed.'' He smiles as he passes me a bag of clothes.

I took it and went to the bathroom to change, I looked out the small window in the door and they were gone. It took a few minutes to get ready, I exit and see Kai up and dressed in some of dad's clothes. I chuckle and walk over hugging him as a nurse brings a wheelchair for him to sit in.

We went to the desk and he signed himself out before we went to dad's car. I helped him get it as he was still in pain and healing from the silver stab wound on his side. Dad takes it slowly so as to not hurt Kai any more than he already is. I held his hand and cuddled up to him, it didn't take long to get to the casino.

"Welcome to the casino Kai." I smile helping him walk to the doors.

"When you are healed I'll have to ask a few questions about you and why you worked for Almar," Dad said pissed as he got to the elevator door.

"Yes sir, all the info I have on him is yours," Kai said, bowing his head to dad.

"We can do some shopping later and get you some clothes, or you rest and you can give me your sizes and I can do it for you," I say as we bring him to a guest room to rest.

"Let's wait, I prefer to get my own clothes. Happy I found you it took so long just going off what he said." He hugged me close. "We are free that's all that matters right now," Kai said happily.

"Thanks to you." I smile hugging back when Tylor comes running to see his brother. He rushed to the bed hugging his brother tight, Kai shouted out in pain so Tylor eased up.

"Ok, he needs rest right now so let him sleep, Tylor." We leave the room so he can sleep.

Dad got the information he wanted from Kai and he said for him, saving me that he and Tylor can work for him. They were happy to hear him say that and they hugged me. They told me they lost their parents and sister to a house fire. I was heartbroken hearing that they lost their family so young and they were separated into different families. Tylor helps out by taking care of Kai with me. I don't know what kind of job dad is gonna have them do at all.

I would bring him some food as I didn't want him moving around too much. It was the next day and I had to leave for school. I hug Kai and Tylor bye and head to my car. It was dad's car, the one he had when I first got adopted. He passed it to me when he got a new one. I hop in and drive myself to school playing some music, I park the furthest away from the school. I put my earbuds in and head inside, I just ignore everything and everyone around me.
