Tadashi is walking underneath the moonlight, on his way to the bridge. Tears are flowing down Tadashi's cheeks as he slowly moves his legs, letting his emotions get to him since there's no one around.
Tadashi took out his phone, his hand shaking aggressively. He went to contacts, searching for Kei's contact name. Once he found it, he pressed call, putting his phone next to his ear.
Kei answered the phone a few seconds later.
"What is it, Yamaguchi?" Kei questioned him, his voice sleepy. Tadashi smiled slightly even though he knows Kei can't see him.
"H- hey, Tsukki!" Tadashi cringed at himself for trying so hard to sound cheerful. Tadashi looked at the time, 1:56 am.
'Why am I even trying to sound happy? It's so late at night.'
"I just wanted to te- to tell you that I won't be able to go to school tomorrow, I- I just got something- something to work on. Sorry if I won't be able to answer your messages or calls, it's just- it's really important. Sorry for calling you so late at night. I'll see you, Kei." Tadashi ended the call, continuing to sob after trying so hard not to in the call.
Kei put his phone on his nightstand before jolting himself up, realizing what he said as soon as Tadashi hung up. How there were sniffles and stuttering everytime he said something, how he sounded like he was in so much pain, how he called so late at night when he could've told him next morning or earlier, everything was off. Kei quickly but silently got out of his bed and went outside, running to wherever is near.
Tadashi didn't put his phone back in his pocket, he just let himself hold it with a firm grip. Tadashi put up his arms to see cuts on his forearms, old and new mixed up. Tadashi cried even more, the memories getting to him. The cuts stung since Tadashi put his forearm over his eyes to wipe his tears, trying to be quiet.
Tadashi finally arrived at the bridge, getting on his knees to let it out before he can finally end it all. Fortunately, Kei finally decided to go to the near-by bridge since he already checked everywhere where Tadashi might be.
Kei could see someone down on his knees with his left hand gripping the bridge's rail. There were visible cuts in his forearm and Kei grew worried. His body seemed weak and there were sobs coming from him.
"Yamaguchi?!" Kei shouted, calling out to him. Tadashi's breath hitched and he froze, slowly looking behind him to see Kei catching his breath.
"Ts- Tsukki?" Tadashi sniffles, trying to stand up with all the strength he has. Kei slowly walked over to Tadashi, Tadashi slowly backing up.
"What are you doing out this late, Yamaguchi? Why? Why are you here?" Kei put his hands on Tadashi's shoulders, staring off into his red, swollen eyes.
"Y- you aren't supposed to be here. No, I'm not supposed to be here. Tsukki, please let me go. Please go home. This is what I want to do, what I need to do. I deserve this." Tadashi looked down, grabbing Kei's wrist to try and take them off his shoulders.
"No, I'm not letting go. You don't deserve this. Yamaguchi, let me help you. You can't do this. This isn't gonna help."
"It will! Everyone will be satisfied that I'm gone and they won't care for even a second that I'm not here anymore! They'll like it! Fuck it, they'll love it! People hate me and always want me gone, so let me- let me do this." Tadashi's voice died down, tears streaming down his face. Kei pulled Tadashi in for a hug, Tadashi's eyes widen at the sudden action.
"Yamaguchi, please." Tadashi blushed, giving up and wrapped his arms around Kei. Tadashi couldn't help but sob onto Kei's shoulder. Kei patted his back, ruffling through his hair.
"It's okay, Yamaguchi. I don't hate you. None of us hates you. People don't want you gone. We want you here with us, you're our friend. We love you."
Tadashi cried even more at the words. The way Kei sounded so soft and felt so gentle, the way his hug felt so comforting, the way his hand felt in his hair while playing with it, the way he is holding him, everything felt so nice.
