Mikey and Kozue were savouring the last moments of their night together. The two had just bought some dorayaki, but Mikey wasn't ready to let her go just yet, so instead they took a ride on his bike down to the riverbank.

He held onto her hand while he led her closer to the water, and she let him. Though their hand holding wasn't anything new, Kozue still felt butterflies in her stomach every time the two touched, just as Mikey felt like his body was set on fire.

The two had gotten even closer if possible, and they both knew their bond was only going to grow more and more. The lines were beginning to blur, neither knowing where they stood anymore, but neither had the guts to ask either.

That, or they were both simply happy with the way things were.

"Kou-chin, if I was a colour, what colour would I be?" The blonde abruptly asked earning a side glance from the boy who was already staring at her.

"Huh? A colour?"

"Yeah." The boy responded, and her cheeks flushed just from his gaze. She knew she was losing herself in him. Never had anyone made her blush from a single look before.

The dark haired girl thought for a brief moment, and it didn't take her long to come up with her answer.

"Red." She stated simply and the Sano boy flinched slightly as he looked over what he thought was a calm expression.

"Eh? Why red?" He exasperated and a small smile tugged at her plush lips.

"Well, I'd say you're a little of everything, but red shines through you the most." She said turning to him, her steel grey eyes piercing his dark ones in the way that always seemed to take his breath away. "Red suggests energy, which, no doubt you have a lot of. Strength and power, you're one of the strongest people I've ever met, not just physically but mentally too. You never know when to give up and I admire that. You have the power to touch any one's heart with not just your words, but actions too. Your passionate too, you show it in everything you do, it's like a burning fire within you. And of course, love. You love so hard, I see how much you care for your family and friends so of course I have to say, your colour would be red."

Kozue's word echoed in his head over and over again, and he felt his heartbeat increase with every second that passed between them. She answered so easily without hesitation and her words were truer than anything.

"Red isn't a bad thing Jiro. In fact, red is my favourite colour." She smiled, as bright as the sun and in that moment, Mikey's breath hitched, his heart thrumming in his chest like a drum.

He wasn't sure why, but for some reason, he didn't realise that Kozue paid as much attention to him as she did. He always thought about the fact that he constantly paid attention to her, but because of that he missed the fact that she did too.

She genuinely cared about him, enough to know him that well and it was almost too overwhelming.

"In that case, I think you're red too." He whispered, but she caught his words. Her eyes crinkled as her smile brightened and he pulled her in to his chest as he embraced her. His strong arms had her relaxing into him in an instant and her small hands rested against his strong heartbeat.
