Mikey sat silently, staring at the wall. His face was devoid of all emotion, but on the inside his heart was in pieces.
It had been a couple of days since he had gotten out of the hospital and the boy was more depressed than he had ever felt before. Draken nor Emma could talk sense into him, and he wouldn't even eat the dorayaki they brought him.
Mitsuya came to visit after hearing from the others what happened, and he felt bad seeing him in this state. The happy joyful friend he was so used to seeing was almost unrecognisable.
~ FLASHBACK ~
"Manjiro. We can't be friends anymore."
Her words sent a shock wave through his body, and he felt himself begin to shake as if he were cold.
"Is that a joke Kou-chin? B- because it's not a very funny one." He laughed nervously, but her expression didn't change. He knew it wasn't something she would joke about.
"I told you. I told you they were dangerous and not to take them on, but you didn't listen. How could you go and do that? You promised me you wouldn't, and you betrayed my trust."
"I- I'm sorry alright? I made a bad call, but that doesn't mean I betrayed your trust!" He pleaded but she didn't respond. "I just wanted to protect you."
He tried to reach towards her, but she was too far away and made no effort to move closer to him.
"You broke our promise. Not only that, but you knew how I felt about it. You know... you know what terrifies me the most. You played right into that fear, I thought I was going to lose you. She was seconds away from killing you!"
"But it's all fine! I'm fine, you're fine-"
"No, it's not! Nothing is fine!" She yelled and he swallowed hard gripping his hands into fists.
"Kou-chin please just tell me what I can do~"
"It's done Manjiro, we're done." She turned on her heel heading for the door.
His dark eyes widened, the realisation of her walking out that door and never coming back hitting him harder than a tonne of bricks and he felt his heart breaking into a million pieces the further she moved away from him.
"K- Kou-chin?!" He tried to get out of his bed knowing this was the only shot he had to get her back, but the nurses rushed in to stop him from hurting himself.
"Sorry sir but you need to stay in bed-"
"Get off me!- Kou-chin!" He called out to her, but she didn't turn back. All he could do was helplessly watch her walk out of his life as he begged her not to leave him.
