Kozue couldn't deny that time had been kind to Mikey's looks.
He was more handsome than ever.
She noticed he had grown taller and obviously his hair had changed. He looked more mature, but his eyes were the same, though she could tell he must've been through hell.
She can't help but to caress his hair and he held her hand closing his eyes as he relished in her touch again after a year apart from her. He still couldn't believe this was really happening, that he was really seeing her, hearing her, touching her. He wanted to cry.
He breathed a deep sigh before opening his dark orbs again, needing to see her for every second that was possible.
"Jiro? "What the hell are you doing here? How did you find me?"
"I'm here to bring you back." He says grabbing her wrist, but she pulls it from his grip.
"I'm not going anywhere." She tells him, confusion washing over both of their faces.
"Of course you're coming back." He says as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"I can't."
"You can."
"You're not listening Jiro."
"Neither are you! You need to come home to your friends, your mother... me!" She looks around noticing people are beginning to look and she decides to drag him back to her place. Neither uttering a word until they were there.
'I'm seriously going to kick Mitsuya's ass.'
You have to go back home Manjiro." She said coldly, and the Sano boy narrowed his eyes hard at her.
"Are you kidding me right now? You seriously think I would do that? Leave you again after I just found out you're alive?"
"Manjiro-"
"No, Kou-chin! Do you have any idea what it's been like? How I've suffered? You left me! And yeah, I'm mad too! I'm mad that all this time you let me believe that you were dead!" He exasperated in such a way she had never witnessed.
"You didn't leave me a choice! You forced my hand that day!" She fired back.
"You should've tried to reach out sooner! I've been through hell and you of all people should know exactly what that feel like How could you do that to me?" The way his voice cracked broke her. She could hear every ounce of his pain, and she hated what she had done.
"You're right, and I'm sorry." She apologised. "But I was doing what I thought was right, I was doing what I could to keep you safe and protected. I know you would've tried to help, and I wasn't willing to risk that. I thought that if I ended up dying now and you knew, it would be harder on you to suffer through me dying twice."
Mikeys eyes widened. She was still trying to end all this, and she thought she was going to die doing it. She didn't want him to know she was alive because if she died for real, then he would have to go through that pain of losing her again. That was something he wasn't going to be able to take.
