I could hear the sounds of Inuyasha's battle ring out, which wasn't helping my concentration at all. I shook my head, and I tried to block it out. "I have to focus." I think as I start to feel spiritual energy begin to surround me, but then Inuyasha sounds out in pain.
"Inuyasha!" Miroku calls out, causing me to lose focus once more, but that wasn't the only thing. Tsubaki's laugh once again sounded out, causing anger to rise within me. Opening my eyes, I turn over and glare at Tsubaki. "This won't work if I don't concentrate." I think as I clench my fists.
"Now do you understand? Your measures are all in vain. Surrender and find a new home inside my Demon's belly." Tsubaki's demands caused me to look over to see Inuyasha with a slash in his stomach.
"So what if I can't use the Tessaiga. I only need one arm to take out that repulsive demon!" Inuyasha proclaims as he holds up his hand that was drenched in his own blood.
"Hold your tongue!" Tsubaki declares, causing the demon fox to jump towards Inuyasha, who then dodges by jumping upwards.
"Blades of blood!" Inuyasha shouts, causing red blades to rush towards the demon, cutting its eyes, and it growls out in pain. Looking over, I see Tsubaki with a look of disdain as I hear Inuyasha chuckle.
"Don't be so sure of yourself." Tsubaki insists as she then clenches the jewel in her hand, causing Kagome to groan in pain, making me look down to see her neck glowing black. "Damn it!" I think as Songo and Miroku look over at Kagome, whose head is lying in my lap.
"Kagome!" Songo calls out with a worried expression. "No, more getting distracted, I have to save Kagome!" I think as I shut my eyes, trying to block out everything else and hold my hands above Kagome's neck.
"Kagome!" Inuyasha calls out look over, but then quickly turns back to Tsubaki.
"Why you-"
"Do not forget, Inuyasha. I hold Kagome's very life in my hand." Tsubaki reminds Inuyasha to growl at her. However, the Demon Fox's eye suddenly heals as it gets back up on its feet, causing it to roar.
"Are you all right? Are you in pain, Kagome?" Songo asks, causing Kagome to open her eyes.
"Yeah, but I'm fine, Sango. Don't worry about me." Kagome answers, but then groans once again.
"Stop acting strong..." I trail off, but keep my eyes shut, causing Songo to look over at Miroku.
"Come on, Miroku. We have to help Inuyasha. Kagome won't be able to last for very long." Songo points out.
"Hold on. I figure Tsubaki intends to kill Kagome whether Inuyasha wins or loses this battle," Miroku informs.
"You mean-"
"Right. Our only hope is to find a way to break Tsubaki's curse." Miroku declares as he interrupts Songo, and I nod.
"You're pretty smart, monk." I finally speak, causing Miroku to look over at me, but I don't dare open my eyes.
"Is that what you're trying to do right now, (Y/N)?" Miroku asks, and I nod.
"I'm trying..." I trail off as I go back to trying to concentrate.
"Well then, while you're trying your way, we'll try to destroy Tsubaki or kill Shikigami, her demon puppet." Miroku asserted.
"I'll leave it to you two then." I agreed. "I should be able to concentrate better this way." I think that as both Miroku and Songo stand up.
"Wait a minute. Remember, just before Kagome fell ill, she said she'd been bitten at the well." Songo reminds.
"Exactly. It was more than likely that Demon serpent. I'm almost sure of it." Miroku assured as he glared at Tsubaki.
