I fell to the floor crying. Alex sat down with me to comfort me. My eyes were still filled with tears. I could hear the echo of my sniffling down the empty corridors. It was bad enough we couldn't hear anything else. I didn't like to cry. It felt horrible, but it did make me feel a bit better. Alex sighed and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "Relax.. She will get over it.. She's Daisy, I've known her since I first came to camp. She's a strong girl." Alex spoke up with a bit of worry in his voice. I could tell he was trying to convince himself. That's whem I realized he was really trying to cheer me up. "You know, back at home with my mom and dogs, I've always been spoiled." He changed the subject instantly. I see what he's trying to do. He wanted me to forget about Daisy. "My mother would tell me how my grandma would take me out and buy me things. There was this one time she had bought me this car, a remote control car, and she told me to take it apart and rebuild it. So I did." He looked off in the distance as if he was going back to the memory. His eyes looked at me and he gave me a small smile. "My greatest record is two minutes." He was actually comforting me because I felt my mouth form into a smile. Alex pulled me in closer. "It's a bit cold." I heard him say nervously. It was a horrible excuse to pull me in but it worked. "You know, I trust you with that ring." He spoke up and grabbed my hand with his open hand. "I don't know how you got that, but I know there's a good reason." He smiled at me "Everything happens for a reason. That's something my mom always told me." I looked down at it. I touched the ring to clean it off, but I got something more.
Everything around me dissolved into a familiar house. I didn't know where I recognized it but it was familiar. I looked around, shouting for Alex. Then a faint light passed through me. I watched it as it turned into an exact replica of me. Soon the light solidified. I realized it was me, and right in front of my replica was... I gasped. "Jeremy!" My replica shouted with happiness as she ran and gave him a hug. I stared at the scene. What was going on? I thought to myself with horror. It was very weird but Jeremy from Camp Half-Blood was standing right at the door.
He was tall, pale skinned, had black with a mix of white and gray hair. Then I realized the haircut, it was a low fade military cut. He wore a marines uniform, just like when I saw the Apollo son. I was completely dumbfounded. "Hey Michelle." He gave my replica a hug. "I'm sorry you have to see me like this." He looked at the replica, well I guessed she was my past self, with eyes full of hurt.
"Must you leave now?" I heard my voice say, I assumed she spoke. I haven't heard my voice be so broken before. I turned and saw myself crying. She was, well I was very hurt. Jeremy leaned in and kissed her forehead.
"You already know I do. They demanded I go back to the war." Jeremy mumbled in pain. The words seemed to hurt him more than they seemed to hurt me. I saw myself cry more and more.
"You don't have to!" She shouted in pain. I've never heard myself yell like that. I became confused. Maybe I have been more miserable in my life. I didn't know who this Jeremy is, but I could see I cared a lot for him. "You can stay with me and my mom! My mom needs you.." She cried. "I need you! You're my step father! You mean a lot to me." Jeremy stared at her. That's when I realized that he was a family member. He was my step father and this must have been his farewell. He was going somewhere far away and I knew it.
"I know.. I'm sorry." He frowns. "Come on, you know I'll survive. You and your mother both know I'm son of the war god." He tried to lift up her spirits. He tried to stand tall but it wasn't working very well. In his stance he was a bit too off. He seemed too bothered by this. He wasn't the way the Ares sons in Camp Half-Blood were. I could tell now that every strong person had their weak points.
"I know. I know. But everyone dies at war.. I can feel it." She says in a melancholic way. My eyes seemed to become watery too. It was like my body remembered this. It began to shake. "Don't go..." I heard my mouth move. My body began to morph into my past self. My body moved with the memory. He patted my head.
"I won't die. I promise." He held out a pinkie. I looked up at him, a small broken smile began to form. I took his pinkie and they locked. My smile was broken when he walked out the door. The scene morphed into darkness. The last thing I heard was a gun shot and a loud painful scream.
I opened my eyes fast and found Alex shaking me. "Wake up. Please wake up! What happened?!" My vision came into focus. Everything was still dark. I looked at Alex and began to cry on his shoulders.
"I remembered." I coughed out with a bit of pain. My eyes couldn't stop crying. He became confused and held me tighter.
"What do you remember?" He asks with a lot of concern.
"I remembered a bit of my past."
