Zhan and Yibo practically grew up together.
Though there had been a few years of separation, the two made up just before Zhan's wedding.

Bleary eyes blinked as it navigated throughout the white blank ceiling. The room felt swiveling, warped, swaying around but Yibo was held secured by a tight grip which refused to ever let go of his hand.
"Ge..?" The low, raspy voice' first word came. A call, a plead, an ache.
He was answered forthwith by the softest eyes and sweetest voice of his Zhan-ge. "Bo-di?" A heavy breath fell out of Zhan. The long day of praying nonstop for Yibo to wake up has finally became fruitful.
Only heavens know how he had seemed to die on the spot when he woke up and saw an unconscious Yibo lying in his arms. The dried smudge of blood on the younger's nose dumped a huge weigh on his chest and he had imagined the worst case scenarios. Zhan's fear was incomparably heavy when Yibo does not respond to any of his plead to wake up.
He had rushed him to the hospital at once. Unparting in holding Yibo's hand as he prayed to all the Gods to let him return to him unharmed. He couldn't carry the nightmare of having Yibo in a comatose again. He had enough fair share of the irresolute and uncertainty of such state.
"Is anywhere hurting, Bobo?"Zhan's beady eyes were bloodshot and shining with tears he was holding back.
Staring at him, looking so lost and fearful, gave way to a new kind of hope to Yibo's once broken heart. Perhaps, he wasn't really the only one who had loved. Maybe, he wasn't really the only one wanting to be loved.
A small smile lighted his face as he kept gazing at Zhan's beautiful orbs. As he did, Yibo sift through his memories, the moments he had wished to forget because they were too painful and the instances that he wished to relive because they were too good.
This time, he pledged, he wouldn't be a coward like he was before. He had lost Zhan's heart once. He had lost his precious memories of him once. This time, he swore, he won't give up so easily without fighting and trying with all his might.
This resolve chipped away Yibo's insecurities and regrets.
He might lose, he might win. But he will never be the hopeless fool he was then who claims he loves Zhan but didn't do anything to win him.
"Zhan-ge." He called pouring his emotions in that endearment and Zhan couldn't help but gather him in his arms and feel his heart beating. "You scared me to death, Yibo." The relief from frustration and scare leaked out of him in the form of silent sobs this time. "Please don't scare me again like that. I won't be able to bear it."
Yibo relished in that unbridled genuine emotions of care and love, sinking himself in the warmest hug from his Gege and wrapping his arms similarly with an intention of never letting go again.
The wild, untamed feelings he had contained in the past, he let them run. He will let them be shown from then on. He isn't weak and a fool like he was before.
These two were deep in their moment, oblivious of the presence of others. Youn suddenly coughed from the back, unable to keep still witnessing such flowery display of affection. "I-I'll call the doctor!", he said. Meanwhile Mrs. Wei swept the tears lacing her eyelids and bid, "I'm sure you're thirsty and hungry, Yibo. Let me bring you something to eat!"
The entangled men blushed hard as the other two embarrased souls fled the room. Similarly, the arms that held each other awkwardly dropped to their sides but the hand that had swore to never let go again stayed connected, firm yet gentle; unfaltering and sure.
Zhan tried to quickly gather his lose feelings, unable to look straight into Yibo's magnetic amber orbs. Whereas there was a glint of cheeky grin on Yibo's face as he stared at the flustered face of his Gege.
"I remember." He revealed, watching how brisk Zhan's head whipped to face him.
Yibo's smile grew wider. Many thoughts, feelings and memories flashed before his eyes.
He then lifted their connected hands gradually and leaned his wet cheek on them, eyes never leaving Zhan's phoenix ones.
"I remember you, Ge."
