Loneliness Can Be Difficult

Atsumu stirred in his sleep, and he rolled over, only for his eyes to shoot wide open.

He'd rolled over to the other side of the bed, Kiyoomi's side.

The first thing that struck him was that it was empty, and the second thing was that it was cold.

Atsumu always woke up before Kiyoomi, so the assassin was a bit confused.

He sat up in the dark room, noticing that the desk lamp was on.

His gaze immediately went to the singular bullet sitting under the light in the middle of the illuminated circle.

He quickly got up and pulled on a pair of sweatpants and one of Kiyoomi's hoodies before moving to switch on the lights.

Once the lights were on, Atsumu realized that Kiyoomi's guns were missing from the desk.

He picked up the bullet and inspected it closely, noticing the feint scratch marks lining the seam between the base and the shell. The bullet also felt unusually light.

Atsumu quickly opened the draw and grabbed a dagger, which he used to wrench open the base of the bullet.

He narrowed his eyes when the usual contents of a bullet, gunpowder, didn't spill out, but a rolled up sticky note in its stead.

He quickly unrolled the note and read it.

Now it's your turn

Atsumu furrowed his brows in confusion before he put the note and the bullet aside and moved to the doorway.

He began to search the base for Kiyoomi, but he couldn't find him.

He had searched everywhere, from the mission room to the training room, even the interrogation room, but he found no signs of Kiyoomi.

On a whim, Atsumu hastily made his way to Komori and Akagi's room.

He frantically knocked on the door, hearing footsteps on the other side.

Atsumu took a step back and fiddled with his fingers when the door began to open, revealing Komori.

"Hello-  Oh, Tsumu, why are you up so early?" He asked groggily while rubbing his eyes.

Atsumu bit his lip, and stumbled backwards, hitting the wall on the opposite side of the hallway.

Komori's eyes widened and he froze in place for a second when Atsumu slid down the wall and sat down on the floor, pulling his knees to his chest.

Komori blinked before he finally broke from his stupor and rushed forwards to crouch down in front of Atsumu.

"Tsumu? Are you okay?" Komori asked quickly.

Atsumu tried to explain but the words wouldn't escape his mouth.

Komori looked around quickly, searching for any signs of his cousin, "Where's Kiyo...?" He thought, because there was no way that Kiyoomi wouldn't be at Atsumu's side if something was wrong, but Komori furrowed his brows when he couldn't see Kiyoomi anywhere nearby.

"Hang on, Tsumu... I'm going to go find Kiyo," Komori said quickly while he began to get up, however, Atsumu grabbed his wrist before he could get up.

Komori turned back to Atsumu who shook his head, looking extremely worried, "Kiyoomi... I dunno where he is..."

Komori furrowed his brows, "He's not in the base? You're sure?"

Atsumu nodded, "I searched the whole base... He's not here," he replied.

Komori frowned and grabbed his phone from his pocket, quickly dialing Kiyoomi's number.

He held it to his ear and waited, but it seemed that the call was put down instantly.

Komori clenched his jaw and pulled his phone away from his ear to look at the screen.

This user has blocked your number

Komori's eyes widened, and Atsumu's expression became even more worried than before.

"Okay, something's clearly up," Komori muttered as he clicked his phone off.

Komori shoved his phone back in his pocket before he gripped Atsumu's shoulders, "Tsumu, did he say anything last night? Anything at all that could of hinted to him going out?"

Atsumu shook his head, "No... He didn't tell me anythin' 'bout goin' out this mornin'," he answered.

Komori furrowed his eyebrows, "Do you remember anything strange? Like, was he acting weird?"

Atsumu bit his lip, and a look of heavy concentration dawned across his features before he nodded slowly, "Yeah... I remember wakin' up last night to a loud thud, an' I saw Kiyoomi standin' near the desk... I called out to him, an' then he told me he was right there an' to go back to sleep," he answered, "But, Mori, he left somethin' on the desk..."

Atsumu reached into his pocket and his hand closed around the bullet and the piece of paper with the message written on.

He held it out for Komori to see, and Komori's eyes immediately narrowed when he read the message.

Now it's your turn

"What do you think it means?" Komori asked.

Atsumu shrugged and rolled up the note before he stuffed it into the bullet and closed it.

Atsumu then put the bullet into his pocket and looked up at Komori who seemed to be deep in thought, "What do we do?" He asked.

Komori clenched his jaw, wondering what the note meant, "We should wait," he decided, "I don't like this, but Kiyo can take care of himself," he justified, "We wait until sunset, and if he's not back by then, or he hasn't contacted us, we'll know something's up," he explained.

Atsumu nodded, though he still seemed unsure about the whole situation.

Komori sighed and looked at Atsumu in the eye, "He'll be back, Tsumu," he assured, "I know Kiyo... He wouldn't leave you for anything."

Atsumu looked down and gulped, pursing his lips as he nodded before he walked down the hallway.

Komori watched Atsumu leave with a concerned expression on his face.

Atsumu, not knowing what to do for the time being, made his way to the training room.

He moved to the punching bag, something he rarely used in his training, but he needed to let out some frustrations.

After Atsumu had changed and finished strapping up his hands, he began his assault on the punching bag.

He gritted his teeth, tearing at the punching bag with every punch he made.

There's no way that Kiyoomi would leave him, was there?
