(Y/N)'s POV
Finally! A day of the year where I'd finally be able to kick back and relax — my birthday. It's a day I've been looking forward to... besides Christmas. And Hailee's birthday, of course.
I'd just been imagining all the things I'd be doing today. I'd sleep in, eat breakfast, read and binge watch some movies and TV shows. Just a day to kick back and relax, as I've said before.
"(Y/N/N)?" I quickly sit up to hear better. Could it be?
"(Y/N/N), my love?"
It is! I kick the covers off of me as I stand up to run over to the stairs where I can get a clear view of who's where. I reach the rails of the stairs and sure enough... there's the love of my life.
"Happy birthday," says Hailee as she catches sight of me from below.
"A happy birthday, indeed!"
I rush over to her, running down the stairs while skipping a few steps. C'mon, I can't be the only one who does that.
I get to her, engulfing her in a big warm hug. She squeals as she grabs ahold of me. I gently lift her off the ground and spin her around for a few seconds.
"I'm so happy you're here!"
"Are you kidding? I wouldn't miss your day for the world!" Hailee then looks at me from where I held her. She leans down and kisses me, cupping my face while she does so.
We pull away when air becomes a problem, "Now, as much as I'd love to kiss those lips all day..." I smirk as she slides her thumb across my bottom lip.
"... I wanna know what my baby has planned for her special day."
"Oh, nothing special."
"No, no, no. Tell me about it." I smile, setting Hailee down on the floor and walking over to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast.
"Well, I was planning on sleeping in, reading and binge watching. Y'know... just taking it easy."
"That sounds... a little like what you do on your days off."
"Does it? Hmm... I never noticed."
Hailee groans, sitting down on the chair across from me. "What's up?"
"Nothing. It's just that I feel like you need to go all out today."
"Believe me, Haiz. This is more than enough."
"There you are with your humble self. You're always taking me out on my birthday. Why should it be any different for you?"
"Haiz —"
"Answer me that, then I'll stay quiet." I eye Hailee, smiling as I open the fridge to get some milk.
"I'm just a simple kind of person..."
