What the hell was I thinking?

When I first read the article of Niall and Hailee's split, the last thing I knew I should do was listen to Niall's album, 'Heartbreak Weather'.

But here we are... minutes after listening to the whole thing.

I read over each song title:

Now, I knew the ins-and-outs of their whole relationship. I must admit, I was a bit skeptical about it from the start. Primarily because Hailee'd just broken up with Cameron and didn't give herself enough time to heal.

More to that, the more they'd want to see each other, the busier they'd get. This led to a whole screaming match at one point. Anytime that'd happen... I'm somehow the poor friend that'd be caught in the middle of it.

"Niall, don't start with me!"

"What'd you mean? It's gotta be addressed."

"But here... and now?"

"If not now, then when? I'm literally —"

"You're literally what...?" Hailee interrupts Niall, crossing her arms and furrowing her eyebrows.

"You're literally doing all you can to make this work? You're literally done with your tour early to spend time with me? Is that what you're literally gonna say...?" Hailee's voice's volume arose all the more as she put air-quotes when she said, 'You're literally'.

Niall didn't say a word, but just kept quiet. I could tell he wanted to say something, but he knew whatever it was was only gonna get him in more hot water.

Niall didn't know what to say or do... but just stare at me, waiting for me to interject. Nope — I ain't about this.

"Go on... I'm listening. It seems like you don't think I'm putting in as much effort as you are."

"But isn't that's what's happening right now? My tour —"

"Oh, enough with your tour already! It ended early... so what? It ended on schedule as you planned. It had nothing to do with me."
