Hailee's POV
I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock sound and scare me out of bed. I groan onto my left side as I press snooze and check my phone. I see it filled with happy birthday texts, tagged pics and my calendar overloaded with a bunch of stuff I need to do for the day. Man, can't I get a break on my birthday?!I look through my iMessage and scroll through my texts with (Y/N), my girlfriend of a year. Things couldn't have gone so smoothly. I scroll to our texts from the night before and I sigh. No good morning text. I sink back into my covers before getting up and starting to work.
I missed her. She's been away filming her new movie and has been super busy. We FaceTimed last night and I made sure we spent at least three hours talking as this was one of the only times she was free to talk. It's been over six months and I expect her to come home any day now. I look at the empty side of our shared bed where (Y/N) usually was. I sigh in sadness.
C'mon Haiz, it's your day. Just work the morning and you've got your party after lunch. If I'm being honest, my party isn't going to be a party without the love of my life. I then get a call from Griffin, "Hey, hey sister. Happy birthday, bestie!" I hear him say through the phone. I slightly grin at his birthday wish and thank him.
**************phone call dialogue**************
Griffin: What you got planned?
Hailee: Mhmm, nothing much. I've got to work in the morning.
Griffin: That's a toughie.
Hailee: Mmm, yeah.
Griffin: I mean, we've got your party after so you're good.
Hailee: I'll just suck in the next 3 hours.
Griffin: Aight, baby sis. Love ya. Happy birthday.
Hailee: Love you too.
******************hangs up*********************I then get out of bed to see Martini at the foot of my bed waiting for me. I smile and pick my bebe up, looking at my phone one last time to see if (Y/N) called or texted.
The last text we sent each other were I love you's. I look at a few pictures before turning my phone off to start work.
*****************few hours later****************
I stare at the clock in the room — 12:30 P.M.! I wrap up work and put my laptop down. I then go to my phone to check for any calls or texts from (Y/N), but to no avail. I sigh again and start to cuddle with Martini. I'm in a comfy hoodie I took from (Y/N)'s closet as I'd been missing her more than I normally do. I also wear a pair of leggings, putting my hair in a bun and watch a movie to help myself relax.
I then get a call. I ran to where my phone was on the other side of the living room. It has to be (Y/N)... it's just gotta. I see the caller ID — Chlöe. I groan and answer the phone.
***************phone call dialogue*************
Chlöe: Hey, girl! Happy birthday.
Hailee: Gee, thanks.
Chlöe: Did you not get my text?
Hailee: My phone was off the whole time.
Chlöe: What for?
Hailee: Work...
Chlöe: On your birthday?!
Hailee: Have to get content to the fans, ya know.
Chlöe: Are you good now. Like, you free?
Hailee: I'm free now. It's been a couple of minutes.
Chlöe: Well, are you ready?
Hailee: For what?
Chlöe: For your birthday?
Hailee: Oh shit!
*Hailee rubs her temple*
Chlöe: Don't tell me you forgot.
Hailee: What, no. It just got lost in the mumbo jumbo of a schedule I call work.
Chlöe: Well, get ready. We're on our way.
Hailee: Any chance it can be a small party — or not a party at all?
Chlöe : Hailee! It's your birthday, what's got you in a bad mood?
Hailee: I'm not in a bad mood — I just... I just miss her.
Chlöe : Oh.
Hailee: I just wish she was here.
Chlöe: Don't worry, babe. I think you'll enjoy this party.
Hailee: I hope so. Anyways, I'll get ready.
Chlöe: Sure, see you in 10.
