Narrator's POV
(Y/N) walked up to the door of her and Hailee's house. Her face was aching with pain as she had just gotten back from a fight at her college class. Hailee had a free day today so she didn't go with her, like she always has. (Y/N) she started to insert her key and unlocked the door, revealing a brightly lit house. This took (Y/N) aback because she was driving around in dim lights the whole time and the sudden change of brightness was too much.

"Hey, baby! How was your day?" she said emerging from the kitchen, only to come and find (Y/N) bruised and bleeding. "Oh my God! What happened? Are you okay?" she said, freaked out and worried. "What?" said (Y/N), who then got the message and looked at her wounds. "Oh these. Oh, no I'm fine, babes. You should see the other girls." she tells Hailee, trying to downplay the situation.

"No, no, no! You're bleeding. God knows what else." she said, rushing over to the fridge to grab (Y/N) an ice pac for her black eye. "Oh, I'll do it. Don't worry, baby!" she said, gently placing it on (Y/N)'s eye. "Thank you!" she said as she held the back of her hand, gently kissing it.

"I'm always here. Now tell me who did this to you." Hailee said, as she rubbed (Y/N)'s back for comfort. "Oh, it's nothing. I've got it." she tells her, waving off the whole thing. "I know you do. But I'm not just gonna sit here and pretend like you didn't just come home with bruises on your face. Now tell me." she said to her.

(Y/N) felt hesitant at the moment, unsure of what to say and how. But she kept her head up and replied as it came to her, "Well, I was coming out my last class not so long ago and I got jumped by Trojan, you know her yeah?" she said pointing as Hailee nodded. Hailee listened to her before grabbing her jacket and walking out the door. "Where are you going?" (Y/N) called out but it was too late. Hailee had gone out the door within five minutes.

Hailee's POV
I started my car and drove off to where I knew Trojan would be. Nobody — and I mean nobody — touches my baby. I reach at an alleyway and sure enough, Trojan was there, beating an innocent person. My heart hurt — so this is what they did to (Y/N).

I couldn't watch this anymore, I got out the car and went up to her and her cronies. "Hey, leave him alone!" I yelled out to Trojan and she turned around to face me. I saw her face and it's completely bruised. My heart felt a little lighter. (Y/N) was right when she told me to see the other girls. I look around and they're all bruised. Damn, that's my baby.

"What happened to your face?" I ask her menacingly. "None of your business." said Trojan as she covered her bruises. "Oh, no need to tell me. I'm dating the one who did that to you." I told her as I approached her. "If I see you so much as an inch closer to her again... you'll regret it." I said to her. Trojan and her cronies circle around me, "Are your threats supposed to mean something to us?" asked one of her cronies, who also happened to be my ex. But we'd broken up a while ago because she cheated. And that was when I met (Y/N), and the rest was history.

"As a matter of fact, I think it should." I say calmly. I then show them a video of them beating the kid from earlier. They stop dead in their tracks. "Fine." says Trojan, giving in. "Good to see we're on the same page." I tell her before making my way into my car, not letting her out of my sight. I then drive off back home.

(Y/N)'s POV
I stay on the couch until I hear Hailee's tires back into the driveway. Finally! The anxiety was killing me not knowing where was had gone. I hear the door open quietly and emerged Hailee. "Where have you been?" I ask her, hoping she was okay. "To Trojan." she tells blankly. Trojan? What for?

"What'd you go to her for?" I ask her. "To give her what she deserved." she tells me as she checks my black eye. "I told you I had it under control." I whined. "And I told you that I knew that. But nobody touches my baby, you hear me?" she tells me. I nod.

She cups my face in her dainty hands and pulls me in for a kiss. In that moment, I couldn't think of being anywhere else. I love her.
