"We won"
"Didn't I tell you? It's dangerous to travel alone, so take it seriously"
"You didn't say it was dangerous to go alone!"
"I...didn't?!"
"And what have you and (Name) been eating that lets you guys punch through a wall with your bare hands?!"
"It wasn't reinforced concrete!"
"Sour candies"
While they were busy bickering at each other and ignoring what you just said, you kneeled in front of the young boy to block the view of the aforementioned people instead. You looked him in the eyes as you held his hand gently.
"Are you hurt?"
"Y-yes..."
"Where?"
He meekly pointed to his neck with a trembling hand, you looked at his neck and saw a small wound that was slightly bleeding. Fortunately for the boy, it wasn't critical.
"I'll heal it, is that okay with you?"
The kid nodded slowly with pursed lips, there was still a residue of fear in his youthful eyes and she slightly felt bad for him. This occurrence will probably forever remain in his memories as a traumatic event.
After giving his consent, you opened the palm of your free hand and looked down at it before you mumbled to yourself.
"Kusa, my loyal shikigami, lend me your power"
Your hand glowed a nature green catching the boy's attention and his heartbeat began to pick up the pace. You were about to place your palm onto the kid's wound but he flinched away. You kept him in place because your hand still held his small hand, he looked at you with fear as he sweat profusely.
You raised an eyebrow at him for a moment before you came to the realization as to why the boy was acting like this.
'He's still afraid of seeing these inhumane things...Comfort him'
"It's not going to hurt"
You reassured him but he still looked afraid, he's trying to pull his hand from yours. You mentally sighed and closed your eyes, remembering how kids are tiresome to comfort. You looked into the boys again, your eyes showing a tint of red.
You released his other hand and placed it on his bruised cheek causing him to gasp slightly. The boy looked at you with wide eyes and you gave him a genuine comforting smile.
"Don't worry, I am not going to hurt you. I promise"
You said to him almost in a whisper as you cupped his cheek gently just like how a mother would. The boy blushed slightly before he shakily nodded, after getting his final consent you gave him a closed-eye smile and he couldn't help but smile too.
You placed your palm on the wound and in an instant, it healed. No traces left of any wound. You looked back at the kid again with a small smile. Traces of red are no longer visible in your orbs.
"Touch where your wound was, little boy"
The boy slowly raised his hand towards his neck and touched the area where he remembered his wound was, and he felt nothing. There was also no blood on his fingers.
"There, see?"
The kid smiled down at his hand before he looked up at you with a blush on his cheeks and a wholesome smile.
"Thank you, miss!"
"It's nothing"
"U-um!"
"Hm?"
