"Ne?" I panicked.

What is going on?

It's almost midnight and my manager is sending me off to the States, plus my companion is Jongin?

Is this just a pure coincidence?

Jongin's manager, Ahn No Woo, rushed Jongin toward and into the van.

Jongin slid the van door open and climbed inside.

"You're here?" He asked with a puzzled face, closing the door behind him and settling in the seat front-left of mine.

Our managers shoved Jongin's belongings in the trunk and quickly had a brief chat before giving us more information.

Manager Ahn peeked his head through the passenger window.

"Call us when you get there!" He quickly ordered.

Jongin nodded and I swallowed my saliva.

"Is it even legal to send two 14-year olds to another country without an adult?" I muttered.

"Yeah, with a guardian's signature and such." The driver replied.

"Oh."

Manager Ahn whispered some things to the driver before we started on the road.

"Be careful. Trust no one." Manager Ahn finally said.

"Ne." Jongin and I said in unison.

The driver rolled up the window and started up the car.

I looked to my right, out the tinted window, and waved goodbye to Manager Lee.

"I'll really miss you." I whimpered.

The two managers waved at us, with no smiled on their faces. Just a small, tiny grin that assured we were going to be okay.

And the van finally drove away.

The roads were empty and quiet tonight.

There were barely any cars around.

It was just a few drunk men walking on the sidewalk.

So... peaceful...

"What's your name?" Jongin asked the driver.

"Jack Lee."

"Ah, you're American?"

"Eo, Korean American."

I wasn't listening to what they were talking about next, because I drifted off to sleep.

-

"Hey, wake up." Jongin coaxed me awake.

I slowly lifted my eyelids open, looking around to see where I was.

Oh, right.

We were at the airport.

"Hey, we're going to miss our flight if you don't hurry up, you pig."

I pushed Jongin away from me.

"I'm not a pig! It's literally like, what time is it, 12:36 a.m.?" I growled, glancing at the digital clock on the van.

12:43 a.m.

Close enough.

"We're going to be late! The flight starts boarding at 12:50!" He rushed.

"Okay, okay. Chill."

I pushed Jongin out of my way and climbed out the van.

A cool wisp of fresh air entered my body.
