I slowly backed away from him, not knowing what he would do to me.

"You think we would just leave him out in the open for anyone to see?!" He raged, pushing me down onto my knees, making it seem like I was begging for mercy.

"You're too gullible, Soojung. I only want you to marry my nephew for money and fame. I don't give a crap about you." He revealed.

My head looked at his slippers, my eyes filling with tears.

Everyone knows that I'm sensitive.

No one would dare to say something mean and scold me harshly.

He kicked my face, sending me flying across the room.

I hit one of the shelves, a sword falling off the shelf, almost slicing my leg open when it landed an inch away from it.

"I guess I'll just keep you here until you agree with the plan." He suddenly got passive.

I winced in pain, shutting my eyes for a moment to think of what to do next.

"Open your eyes."

I didn't dare to even listen to him.

"OPEN YOUR EYES, YOU IDIOT!" He raged once more, slapping me across the face.

Now, that slap almost knocked me out.

"You're a pretty one. Maybe I should use you as a slave. A slave that gives me great pleasure." He smirked, grabbing my chin and pulling it up to face his face.

I tried to avoid looking into his eyes, but he moved his hand down to my throat, attempting to choke me.

My eyes averted in fear, looking into his eyes for mercy.

"I will choke you if you don't obey me, you little witch."

He squeezed my neck a little, my hands immediately trying to remove his hands off my throat.

It's getter harder to breathe by the moment, my blood circulation becoming weaker by the second.

"Jebal..." I managed to gasp.

He choked me a bit more.

"It gets worse by the day." He threatened.

He finally choked me fully on, making me really desperate for air.

Before I fully passed out, he let go of my neck.

I gasped for breath, choking on my spit as I did so.

My body fell to the floor from the lack of air in my body.

"You'll learn, right? I don't think you're that stupid." He mocked, kicking me in the ribs before leaving the room.

He closed the door, rumbling with the handle from the outside before silence finally creeped in.

"Andwae..." I cried, dragging my body over to the door.

I checked the door knob to see what he had done to it, even though it was obvious.

He had locked it.

I finally gave up, slumping my body on the wall next to the door.

I continued taking deep breaths, evaluating what had just happened within these 24-hours.

As I closed my eyes, thinking of what I could be doing right now, I heard a knock.

No, not a knock, but a very light rustle.

A rustle like someone trapped in a small space, trying to make themselves comfortable.

"Who's there?" I quietly called out, not having enough energy to speak any louder.
