"It hasn't even been one full day..." Mom cried, collapsing into Dad's arms.
I started tearing up, holding back the tears.
"I've waited so long for this... for her." I choked back my tears.
Dad pulled me into his arms and let me cry on his shoulders.
-
Amber's car pulled up in the lot, stopping with a loud shriek.
She waved for me to get in the car.
I put a little smile on my face and opened the car door and jumped in.
"Heyyy~" Amber exclaimed.
Nothing came out of my mouth as I fastened my seatbelt.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Amber asked, putting her hand on my shoulder.
"Jessica... she- she got taken by police." I stuttered.
Amber raised her eyebrows in surprise.
It was rare for police to arrest someone.
It was already rare to hear or see a police vehicle.
"Oh..." she trailed off.
After a few moments, Amber went back to her sane state and started driving out of the lot.
Neither of us said anything the whole way back.
About 12 miles away from SM, Amber got bored.
She turned on the radio to a random station.
"Breaking news! 'Jessica Jung from SNSD has just been arrested for attempting to abuse her family in public.' Dispatch says..." the anchorwoman explained.
I groaned, turning off the radio.
"Why was it on that channel?"
"I don't know."
"Answer me!"
"Hey, Krystal, calm down."
I sank down back into my seat, crossing my arms like a child would.
My phone rang in my purse right that moment.
I pulled out my phone and checked who had just texted me.
'Hey, I heard about your unnie.' Jongin sent.
"My god! Stop talking about her!" I cried, throwing my phone on window, causing it to break.
"Soojung, calm down! I understand you're frustrated, but there's no reason for you to get mad like this." Amber scolded.
I screamed out in frustration.
-
I ignored paparazzi as I walked into the SM building.
There were staff guarding the doors, making sure no one could enter, except people who actually work/train here, of course.
"Amber... I'm going back to our room..." I whispered, waving her off.
She waved back and disappears from my sight.
"Was I too childish in the car?" I asked myself.
I pushed the door, which lead to the light of stairs.
I slowly started walking up the stairs, processing what had just ruined my day.
They forced her to get arrested.
She got arrested because of me.
It's all-
Pow!
I ran into someone.
"I'm sorry." I bowed, not looking at the person.
I continued to walk up the flight of stairs, but a hand caught my arm.
"Hey, Soojung." Jongin whispered.
I looked back, seeing Jongin in his training clothes; sweatpants and a loose tee.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, wiping away my tears.
"I was supposed to get something my manager ordered, but I ran into you instead."
"It's been a long time, hasn't it?"
"Eo."
I smiled, pulling my arm out of his grasp.
"Maybe we could hang out sometime, as friends, of course." I suggested.
His face lit up like a Christmas tree.
"Jjeongmal? When?" He asked.
"I'm free next Saturday." I replied.
"Ah, same. Next Saturday at 1 p.m.?" He suggested.
I nodded, pulling out my phone to put it into my calendar.
The screen looked horribly cracked, but the phone worked.
Thank god.
"Maybe we could go get a new phone for you." He told me, putting his hands in his pockets.
"Yeah..." I trailed off, punching in the date.
"Anyways, Soojung, I'll see you later." He waved, running down the stairs.
"He calls me Soojung, just the way I prefer it." I smiled.
