"You." bitterness laced my words
"Now it makes sense. You're Miss. Luxor Rossi" He scoffed
"Take a seat" I offered, with a fake smile plastered on my lips. Despite the fact that I much clearly despise him. I have to be polite and actually work. He sat down.
"So, what brings you here?" I asked, he was staring at me with disbelief.
He chuckled and shook his head. He went from leaning back on the chair to resting his elbows on it, he was now annoyingly close to me. That made my heart flutter a bit. That shocked me
"So, you're Olivia Luxor. Should I take a step back before you hit me?" he joked, I rolled my eyes and stared at my paper work.
"Look, I have no problem at sending you back on your way and telling other billionaire companies to not accept you. I have connections. Watch your tone, will you? I will not lose anything by sending you back on your way" I snarked back.
"There it is, now I see who your daughter takes after" he got on my nerves. I scoffed. I threatened to kick him out, yes, however, I wouldn't actually follow through... despite what had happened previously today, something about him intrigued me. Something about him made me want to actually get to know him.
"Ha! now I see who your daughter takes after. Watch it, 'cause if you keep it up, I'll do the same thing my daughter did, and it will leave much more than a teeny tiny little bruise" I got closer to him and said in a calm, but threatening tone.
"Are you threatening to hit me? I don't feel safe in this work environment" He did a fake sorry look. "You aren't working for me yet, so this isn't a work environment" When I said 'this' I gestured to my desk.
"Yet?" he questioned, he wanted a reaction out of me, what a bitch.
"For fuck's sakes Marko. what's your proposal?" I asked, irritated
"The boss is mad?" he asked, in a baby tone, mocking me. "That's it, stop it with that bullshit of yours or you're getting kicked out, last warning." I made my authority clear.
"Okay, Fine. I want to invest in Hatchel" he said, leaning back on the table, hoping to convince me with a smirk.
He was incredibly handsome, I had to give him that. However, I won't let myself be manipulated over what? a quick fuck? a boyfriend that'll last for a couple months? I know my worth, and I know Hatchel's worth.
"How much? Why? How could it benefit Hatchel? You mentioned that you were looking for a job? A job is not the same as investing. Explain." I demanded answers. I put on my glasses and analyzed his body language. He was tense, he thought that he would convince me with a little smirk and teasing, he can keep dreaming, I chuckled to myself.
"You're tense, whatever you want from Hatchel or from me, you have to get it the ethical way, are we clear?" I caught him by surprise, he chuckled, he knew that I discovered his intentions, then, as he was about to open his mouth to speak, his phone rang, he quickly checked who was calling to turn his phone off. Spoiler aler; he didn't. His face changed to a worried one.
"I'm sorry, Miss. Luxor Rossi. This is important, it's about my daughter" he said, I nodded at him, indicating that he could take the call, he hesitated.
"Can we schedule another meeting?" he asked, "I have the week full" I replied with a shrug
"Can we have dinner some day, then?" he asked, stressing over not being able to take the call, as a mother, I understand what that feels like. I could only assume that it was something about Eve.
