That's it, the whole night went by and I couldn't close my eyes.
I took a hot shower, drank a hot lemon tea and watched some films, it was clear by now that I wasn't going to get any sleep.
I walked towards my office, might as well get some work done.
I opened the door, slowly, careful to not cause any sound. I did not want to deal with a sleepy toddler tomorrow. However, the view in front of me was shocking to say the least.
I found Rose rummaging through my stuff, she had a Rolex on her wrist that was basically falling off of her, oversized sunglasses on her cute little face and a bracelet that I'd recognize anywhere.
She found the box of the things that Rowan left behind.
"I have a surprise for you" he sneakily stole a glance from me, I snuggled into his side and rested my head on the crook of his neck, trying to get my obvious blush to go unnoticed.
That day was a harsh one, it was the anniversary of my mom's death and we were at our hidden spot watching the sunset. Ten whole years had gone by, however, the pain was always the same, I just didn't get triggered easily and could talk about her freely, but that undeniable tugging at my heart whenever I saw mothers and daughters at café's, whenever I heard talking about Greece never ceased or decreased.
My mom loved Greece, when I was a kid she used to tell me all about greek gods and legends, I was fascinated. Now, I'm ten years older, and miss her more than ever.
Rowan must've seen my watery eyes, he always used to do that, he noticed whenever something was wrong and always comforted me the exact way I needed, wether it was to just be by my side and listen to me or if it was saying the precise words I needed to hear, he was always there for me.
I only realized that a tear had rolled down my cheek when his thumb brushed it away, he grabbed my chin gently and turned my head upwards so I would face him. He knew instantly that I was upset about my mom.

Guilt consumed me, she killed herself. Didn't even leave a letter, and I found her, at ten years old. I walked into her room to tell her about school and I saw a pool of crimson splattered around her, her curly light brown hair splattered all around, and I clutched onto my teddy bear wishing to disappear.
I could've done something, even though I was a child, I could've noticed that something was wrong.

"It was not your fault, Olivia" he knew exactly what I was thinking, and the use of my full name indulged that he was saying nothing but the true, even though it didn't feel like it.
I sniffled and quickly rubbed my eyes and swatted away any forming tears, along the ones that had already escaped my eyes.
"she would've loved you" I admitted through a quiet murmur.
His body tensed at my statement, but his eyes flickered happiness for the slightest of moments, and then, his worried and caring look came back to his eyes.
"You can't keep blaming yourself, Oli. You're tearing yourself apart. You were ten and helpless, not even your dad could help her" he stated.
My mom and dad were soulmates, they pieced each other just the right way, yin and yang, the sun and the moon. They were made for each other, and together, they were whole. I always admired that, and wished for love as powerful as theirs.
