I made my way to the reception after the performance, where Rose was waiting for me with her bag dropped next to her and her small hands fidgeting.
I got to her as fast as my crutches let me. As soon as she saw me she came running towards me, I put my crutches down and kneeled to hug her, she had a bright grin on her face.
"You were amazing, Rose. The best" I caressed the back of her hair. "Really?" she asked, not believing my words. We pulled away from the hug.
There were twelve little girls dancing on stage and my girl was better than anyone. She had the main part and was the star of the show, I couldn't be any more proud of her.
"Really. I'm so proud of you honey" I pulled away from our hug to observe her face. If Rowan where here, he would've thrown her in his arms, spun her around and kissed her cute little face that resembled him so much.
I decided not to dwell on that, to just stare at her, she tilted her head lightly, "Is something wrong, mommy?" she asked. "Nothing at all sweetheart. Daddy would be so proud of you." I shot her a nostalgic smile, her face lit up. "How do you know, mommy?" she asked
"I just do, love." I caressed her cheek. "Can we go now? I want ice cream!" She started jumping up and down. When I turned to grab my crutches a helping hand was stretched out to me.
"Anderson? What are you doing here?" I asked, his hand did not budge. "Eve's friend invited her. Eve wanted me and her mom to come along with her" he explained.
If I accepted his help, he would brag, tease me about it non-stop and his ego would double it's size. So, I ignored his help. Instead, I called over my bodyguard who handed me my crutches, he tried to help me up but I declined his help.
If I got down by myself, then I could get up by myself. Yes, I'm stubborn like that. No, I hold absolutely no shame in it.
I did get up alone, my bodyguard kept a close eye on me in case I fell. "I'm fine" I muttered as I dusted off my dress.
"Goodbye, Mr. Anderson" I turned to look at him before walking off, Rose as close to me as she could get.
"Goodbye, Oli" he teased before turning around and leaving, just like that. No following, no nothing.
Not gonna lie, I almost felt upset that he let me go just like that. No, I didn't feel upset. Why would I feel upset? No logic in that.

I had just put Rose to bed when I received a call from security, my hand quickly went to my gun before I even answered. I was shaking, bad. My stomach churned and I felt a knot being formed.
I was scared. I was so fucking scared. I prepared myself for the worst, I would fight tooth and nail for Rose's safety, even if it meant risking mine.
"Hello Miss. there's a young gentleman claiming to have a belonging of yours. The same young gentleman who drove you here last night. Marko Anderson is his name. Shall I let him through?"
I sighed in relief, my hands soon started to steady themselves and the knot that had formed in my stomach untied itself.
"Uhm... yes. Yeah you can let him through" I rubbed the spot in between my brows with my gun after clicking the safety on. "We need verbal identification Miss" he stated.
"I, Olivia Luxor Rossi, allow Marko Anderson access to my private elevator tonight. The date is august 13th, 2022."
"Perfect. He's on his way escorted by security. We did a full check on him and he carries no flammable nor dangerous objects or weapons."
