Today is the day.

Today is the day I become a free man.

Today is the day I escape.

Today is the day that I'll be reunited with Olivia again, the day where I'll finally meet my daughter.

Her name is Rose, I chose that. He told me that they call her Rosie.

I hate that he got to experience all these things with my family before I could, he took my whole world away. Stole me from being a father and a husband.

I have to admit that a part of me is scared, what if my love actually fell in love with him? What if his plan actually worked? But she still thinks of me, she never forgot me or so Marko tells me. Me and my love we are... we're like a flame, It's windy but eventually we'll glow harder than ever. Together.

Marko Anderson is a monster, he met my daughter before I did, he welcomed himself into the house I chose with my love, he slept in my bed, cooked food in the kitchen I made. Marko Anderson lied, hurt, and manipulated my wife for her love. This ends today.

I've been planning this for two years, and I will succeed. There is no margin for error.

Marko Anderson is so hooked up with her that he's off his game, I had a couple times where I could've easily escaped, but if I did, then I wouldn't have everything planned out to perfection.

Yesterday they went on a date and he's still over the moon. Silly him for telling me.

He has me chained to a wall and all I have to do to get free is get to the keys. It isn't as difficult as it may sound. Sometimes when he's mad that I got to experience more with Olivia than he'll ever will, he tortures me. Recently he has been taking his anger out on me, and when he unchains me to kick me and whatnot he has his keys in his left pocket. However, he hasn't been securing them properly, all I have to do is bite his neck when he's close enough, kick him in the groin and take them. Easy, right?

I've been acting sick, weak, so he's not worried about me escaping, so he lowered his defenses.

I recognized his steps entering the woods, approaching the small cabin in the middle of nowhere. I got my act up, acted asleep and sick. It was all a ploy.

He slammed the door open, stomped towards me and punched me square in the face. I acted as if that woke me up.

"She cried today because she saw her wedding ring, had another panic attack over Rose growing up without a father" he spat, I acted overly weak. "I'll never be her father, but I'll get her knocked up and then... then I will win, I will be better than you, Rowan Hayes"

When he went to unchain me, I gathered up all of my strength --which was a lot-- and bit his neck. It started bleeding uncontrollably, that was when I kicked him in the groin.

I brought the keys closer to me with my feet and unchained myself. I freed my first hand with the key in my mouth, and when that hand was free I unchained the other.

Then, I smashed the key, spread the remainings near him and knocked him out.

I put my handprints all over the place, I made a little cut so there would not only be my dried blood, but also my fresh.

I forced myself to throw up in a corner of the room. With my accumulated feces from 2017 until now, that would be more than enough evidence to show that I was to torture by him, so that the bastard gets death row.

I kicked the door open, and when that fresh breeze hit me, I knew that it was over.

I was finally free.

After years of endless torture, after watching Olivia suffer because of me. It was over, and I would go back home. Go back to my girls.

I ran barefooted through the forest and laughed, the grass made me realize that it was official, I was real, I could do whatever the fuck I wanted to.

I ran to the road, after years of being kidnapped and having endless time to myself, I could recognize every sound and calculate where everything was, It took me thirty minutes to get to the road and I never stopped running.

Because now I could run.

I saw an emergency phone and went to it as fast as I could, I grabbed it and I knew when I heard the operator speak that I did it, I survived.

"Hello, what's your emergency?" A very kind woman spoke. "I'm Rowan Hayes, I was kidnapped in august in 2017" I panted, catching my breath. "Are you safe, Rowan?" the woman sounded distressed. "Yes, but I don't know if he has any fire weapons, please hurry."

"I have already sent out several units, could you stay on the line with me?"

"Thank you" I breathed, "are you hurt, Rowan?" she asked, I heard aggressive typing on the other end.

"Nothing deathly"

"Okay, uh... good" the typing never ceased, and it was hurting my ears. "Can you tell me anything about your abductor? A description, perhaps?"

"His name is Marko Anderson, he owns a bar and has a daughter called Eve."

"That is-- That is extremely helpful, Rowan. The patrol cars should be there in mere seconds" she sounded taken aback about how much I knew about my kidnapper. I heard the sirens and dropped to my knees, everything became blurry and the adrenaline inside me was washing out.

When the officers ran out of their cars to get me, that's when I allowed to myself to loose consciousness.

I wasn't worried anymore. All the pain, all the hurt, it was all over. I was going home.
