"I want the experience, Oli." he said, teasinglyMy mind drifted back to the past by that nickname.
Oli.
"Hey, you didn't come in yesterday. are you okay, Oli?" he asked, and he seemed truly worried about me. I think that, for a split second, I saw how his bad boy demeanor switched to a more humane one, a more realistic one.
My heart fluttered at the nickname.
Oli.
"We're going by nicknames now, aren't we, Row?" his nickname rolled out of my tongue so naturally, it almost shocked me.
"I guess we are, Oli" he emphasized my name, and that sent shivers down my spine.
"What for?" I snapped back to reality
"It wouldn't hurt to have that I worked with a self-made billionaire on my curriculum" He grinned, I narrowed my eyes and scanned him, head to toe. He seemed determined, confident. "If it worked that way, I'd have the whole of the USA working for me." I corrected his statement, he wouldn't work with me, he'd work for me.
"Do you remember about Vingt Corporates?" he asked
Vingt's was a blooming clothing brand which was lead by an almost non-existent man. I'm not pretty sure why, but information was never disclosed about the man, the only thing that was known about him was his name, his designs and his face. However, the man ran away a couple of years ago, leaving only a note behind, and no one could manage to keep Vingt's from falling to the ground.
Vingt's what made me realize that I should pursue my dreams without being scared of success, after all, if a man who's only went on two job interviews managed to make it big, then I could, too.
He sighed in frustration, why was he bringing Vingt Corps up?
"Yeah... what does it have to be with you?" I asked, skeptically. He adjusted himself, his eyes reflected frustration, he cleared his throat, and I just analyzed him. Why was he so nervous?
"I'm close friends with the owner, Jackson Mathews" he says, and my jaw dropped internally
highlight on the word internally, I wouldn't be about to let this arrogant's man ego get bigger than it already was
"And?"
"What do you mean, 'and?' ? I'm close friends with him" he stated, like he was confused as to why I didn't instantly hire him on the spot
I didn't even know what he wanted to work as, how could I hire him for an inexistent position?
"Yes, and? Just because you allegedly are 'close friends' with him does not tell me anything about how you work, and what you want to me to hire you for" I explained, with an unbothered look on my face
He just looked at me astonished
"Now, tell me a real reason to hire you" I demanded, with a serious look on my face. "Look, you got your business up from scratch, and I want to do the same" He admitted. "What's your business?" I questioned, he was getting irritated.
"A clothing brand, menswear."
"Okay, now, you said that you wanted to learn from me. Why don't you just go ask your friend Jackson Mathews?" I asked, now I teased him, or at least tried to.
"Because, he ran away" he said, the last part in a lower tone, and something told me that he wasn't lying about being close friends with him. I had forgotten that he ran away for a split second.
