“Any updates?” Sophia asks as she walks into our room. Book in her left hand and Phone in the other
“Nope” Ben answers and gets off of his bed
“It looked really bad. The thing that keeps racing through my mind is, why are the Avengers fighting robots? Who is controlling them?”
“I don’t know”
“No clue”
I look up from my phone. My hand lets go from it and my phone lands on the soft sheets of my bed. I don’t know how I should feel right now. My gut tells me that I schould do something but my brain tells me that I can’t because it's impossible to get there. Why can’t I just think like everyone else in this world? Why can’t I react like everyone else? Why do I have to know that something is going to happen but I don’t know when exactly? It's torture.
Lately it’s been different. My powers, they feel different. Like it's changing. Rebuilding? Maybe I’m just being paranoid. But I feel it and the little pain that vonstantly rushes through my body makes me act differently and makes me think differently. It freaks me out. I just-
“Maven?” Anna sings
“Huh?” I ask and look up, meeting the confused eyes of Ben, Anna and Sophia
“Okay. You clearly haven’t been listening to what we were saying the past few minutes, so let me summon it up” Anna explains with a chuckle “We decided that we want to go to this one little coffee shop, you want to come with? I mean it could be a little reunion-day four us four”
“Sounds nice. When ?” I ask. She’s right, it will be like a little reunion after they were gone for the past few days. And it will help get my mind off of the Avengers thing.
“Great. Tomorrow. 12am” She answers clearly and I nod
“Let’s do something, I’m not tired yet” Anna groans and throws her head back
“Yeah, me neither” Sophia says and looks at Anna
“Same” Ben agrees
I nod and wait for Anna to say what we’re doing now. I don’t really care, I just need to stop thinking right now.
I see the smirk in Anna’s face slowly growing bigger and bigger. Oh no. She looks at me and I already know what we’re going to do.
“Brownies” She calls out and we all start to growl “Come on! It’ll be fun!” She says a little louder and grabs my hand
I look back, seeking for help but Ben and Sophia only chuckle and start walking. Anna lets go of me and starts talking to me.
“Meet me an our earlier at the coffee shop, yeah?” She whispers for only me to hear
“Why?” I whisper back, frowning my eyebrows in confusion
“We need to talk” She says and walks faster leaving me here in total confusion. I look at her, but I only see her back before she turns around the corner
I hear Ben and Sophia laughing so I turn around. They smile at me and I smile back.
“Ready for baking?” Ben chuckles
“Yeah” I smile
“Well, I’m ready for what comes after that” Sophia states
“And what is that?” I ask, my smile still not leaving my face
“Eating, obviously” Sophia replies and laughs which makes me and Ben laugh as well. We go on walking and reach the kitchen.
“There you are” Anna mumbles as we get inside
