Saying goodbye to Anna
“I’ll miss you” Sophia says as she hugs my best friend Anna
I’m standing at the doorframe of the big entrance. I watch my friends say bye to each other and I feel bad. This can’t end like this, I can’t and won’t let her leave like this. Anna, Ben and Sophia separate and I bite on my inner cheek as Anna and my eyes meet. I smile at her with lips pressed into a thin line, I walk down the few stairs and walk towards her.
“Bye, Anna” I say and take a step further
“Bye” She mutters and turns around
“Anna, wait” I yell after her causing her to turn back around
“I’m sorry” I whisper as I hug her, relieved when she puts her arms around my back as well
“I don’t know what’s going on with you but I hope you’ll figure it out” She mumbles into my ears
I take a deep breath and back away. “Have fun in “Schnitzel-Land” I joke and look at her again as she walks to the car where all her stuff is already laying in the trunk.
“I will” She chuckles and opens the car door
“I still want my weekly news” I remind her “And I won’t be sad if I get some sweets or german food” I smile
“I’ll see what I can do” She laughs and waves one last time at all of us before she gets in and the taxi drives her to the airport
