Evening

Tristan eyed Lucien questioningly, "Where were you? You missed the good parts."

Lucien sighed, saying, "It's fine. I never liked movies much. I-I, ah, had a run-in with Aurora."

"That explains her absence," Tristan said, looking around the darkened hall. He had watched his sister, Aurora, leave with the werewolf girl Karlie and then come back with sweatshirts on. Tristan did not approve of the short shorts Aurora was now wearing. He knew it was the fashion, but still it looked common to him and he did not approve. Plus, this huge building was rather chilly. Tristan planned to have a chat with his sister tomorrow about, not only her behavior today, but her wardrobe.

"I shall tell you about it later," Lucien snapped, shifting suddenly in his seat.

"Gods, you have the worst breath! Were you eating seafood?" Tristan gagged. The after effects of the cod liver oil were making Lucien want to burp, but he restrained himself. He hadn't had time to brush his teeth.

Lucien's face colored in the darkness. "Damn you, Tristan. I said I would tell you about it later!" Lucien hissed. A few of the adults turned and gave them dirty looks. Lucien crossed his arms across his chest and focused on the film. Maybe it wasn't as bad as he thought.

Tristan smirked and said no more. By the way that Lucien was wiggling, he would not be surprised if his roommate recently got a hiding. He wondered what he had done.

Emily had been planning to try to turn into her mermaid form in her large bathtub at some point tonight. She was going to slip out of the movie, feigning illness to get some privacy. Yet, she wanted to swim, not just turn. The bathtub would not be large enough. She had a plan, but she was not sure if it would pan out. Yet, she and Henry were having fun during the movie, whispering and sharing candy and popcorn. Josh came over and whispered that they were taking the kids home. Chris was in Aiden's arms, after getting hyper from the candy, he and Sara had both worn themselves out. Plus, it was already past their bedtimes. Emma had taken Pedro out a bit earlier.

Emily promised Josh that she would be home after the movie.

Henry leaned over, "You want more to drink?"

Emily shivered, "No, but it is freezing in here. Want to go see the stars?"

"You mean outside?" Henry asked, looking around.

"Yeah, it's not a full moon, right?" Emily giggled softly.

Henry smiled, "Not until the 16th. I mean, it should be safe...but I don't know if we're allowed."

Emily shrugged, "I just want to get some air. Stay here if you want."

Emily popped up and started to make her way out of the Great Hall. Henry paused a moment and then followed. None of the remaining adults seemed to notice.

Emily led him through the kitchen and they exited out the back door. There was a security system, but it didn't seem to be armed yet. Nothing beeped or went off when Emily opened the door.

It was a beautiful night. The warm air felt wonderful after the coolness of the house.

"You want to walk out to the gardens with me?" Emily asked.
