Elijah parked the SUV and and Kol hopped out.

"Bloody hell, this place is massive," Kol breathed. He looked up at the huge white building that was now half a school. The other side was still under renovation.

"Yes, it was a hospital a century ago. Remember, Rebekah volunteered here? She and Marcel used to meet here secretly. Niklaus never knew that, he just thought she was very civic minded," Elijah smirked.

"Oh yes, Mrs. Gerard-Mikaelson was rather clever, even in those days. I never really thought the two of them would finally marry, did you?" Kol asked, pausing again to admire the architectural details in the old building.

"No, I never thought, or hoped that any of us could truly be happy like this," Elijah admitted. "But look at us now, we are philanthropists now. I am proud of that. Our family is finally giving back."

Kol let out a dry laugh, "Aye, after killing so many people, I guess it is the least we can do. And this little excursion gives Georgie a break from me. Just hope my family doesn't run off like a bunch of groupies. They have been really taking this garage band thing a bit too seriously."
Elijah put an arm around Kol. "I'm glad you came, Little Brother. I think Linda appreciated your help at the Compound. She's done well as faction leader. Sean was impressed."

Linda was the vampire that Josh had left in charge of the city while they lived at Crescent Academy. There were always careful negotiations to keep the delicate balance of power between the human, vampire, werewolf, and witch factions in New Orleans.

Kol nodded, "I am glad the old house is in use and this Linda has things under control. Things decay when left untended. I always wondered why my clothes never rotted off my body when I was undaggered..."

Elijah tried to hid a smile. "I suppose it is because I changed your clothes. I didn't ever let you get dusty, unless Niklaus hid you. That I had no control over!"

Kol started to reply when the grand doors opened.

Hayley rushed out and hugged Elijah. Jackson stood by, watching.

"Hey, you guys are here! And just in time, we have a big picnic planned. Come on in," Hayley gushed. "How are things in Mystic Falls? I promised Rebekah and Marcel we'll come for a visit soon, but it's been crazy here. I can't wait to see the triplets"

Kol shook Hayley's hand. Kol went on, "Aye, it's crazy in Virginia. The girls are getting big and very loud. Davina, speaking of loud, may have gotten in a bit of hot water, but I'll let her tell you that one. Tommy has been a good lad. He's even babysitting now to buy a...quad or some motorbike."

Jackson stepped forward and shook both of the Original vampire's hands.

"Good of you both to come. We hope you like what you see," Jackson said. We've been working hard."

Jackson put his hands on Hayley's shoulders and added, "Especially this one. Although she is supposed to be resting more."

Elijah looked down at Hayley's belly, she was already showing.

"Ah yes, congratulations are in order. How are you feeling, Hayley?" Elijah inquired politely.

"Great. And don't listen to Jack, I am resting," Hayley laughed, patting her stomach. "Now, let's get you guys in so we can give you the grand tour."
