A few weeks had gone by since Rory had given Eli the sticky note. He hadn't said anything to her whatsoever. The only difference was that one time, when she looked at Eli in the lunch room, he gave her a little smirk. But, other than that, she's still had the silent treatment, which she knew she deserved.
"Cyber bullying is no laughing matter. Sending a cruel message to someone online can be just as hurtful as saying it to their face," Counselor Blatt explained
Yasmine, Moon, and Sam ignored the message and talked about Halloween costumes. They planned on going as Laker Girls, along with Rory.
"Hey, psst! Rory! Are you going as a Laker Girl too?" Moon asked the blonde, who was staring off.
Rory was brought back into reality and turned towards her friends. She took a second to process what they were saying.
"Oh, uh, yeah! For sure!" She replied and turned back around to listen to Counselor Blatt talk.
Yasmine seemed to be annoyed that Rory was listening to the speech about bullying. Especially since she had suspicions that Rory liked Eli.
"I'm not gonna name names, but the other day, a mother called me up because her son was crying after some kids online made fun of his facial deformity," Counselor Blatt said.
Rory immediately knew it was Eli. It wasn't because of him covering his cleft lip scar and putting his head down, or the kids around them whispering things like, "There's the kid right there!" and pointing at Eli. She knew because this used to happen all the time when they were friends. She used to comfort him every day basically.
Yasmine and the guys began to laugh. who They all stared at Eli with pouty faces. Rory fake chuckled a bit so they wouldn't suspect her interest in Eli even more.
When they weren't paying attention, Rory looked back at Eli. He had his head down and was being comforted by Demetri, and the new kid at their table, Miguel. They looked at her and Demetri rolled his eyes and said something to Miguel. Rory turned her attention back to her table and sighed. She was convinced she could never gain her ex friends trust ever again.
Suddenly, Aisha pulled a chair up to their table and began to talk to Sam.
"Hey! I got a great idea for our costumes this year! I was thinking, I go as sodium, and you go as chloride!" Aisha said in an upbeat tone.
Yasmine laughed at the girls odd costume choice. Rory gave the girl a sorry look. Aisha ignored her and continued to talk to Sam.
"I'm sorry, but we actually decided to go as Laker Girls. But, I'm sure we could order another one!" Sam replied, trying to be as nice as possible.
Sam and Aisha had been friends when they were younger. Rory had talked to her a few times when they were in middle school, but other than that, they weren't exactly friends.
"Well, we could totally order you another! But, I'm staring to think their 'one size fits all' suddenly seems like false advertising," Yasmine replied, laughing her head off.
Rory knew this comment was obviously to make fun of Aisha's weight. Since Aisha was a little too overweight for Yasmine, she made fun of her for that.
The blonde rolled her eyes at Yasmine and looked back at Aisha. She mouthed 'don't listen to her'. Aisha sighed and pulled her chair away from the table. Sam and Rory both shared a glance that said the same thing; we need to get rid of Yasmine.

Rory walked into her small family home. It was just down the street from Sam's house.
