act I chapter V

"So, you climbed up on a table, and knocked the asshole out with a LUNCH TRAY?" Johnny asked Rory is shock.

Rory nodded and smiled. She had been even more confident since winning her second fight against Kyler Park. With this confidence, she even earned her way back at her old lunch table.

"That is so badass! For both of you! Teller, you're on the team," Johnny said with a smile.

Rory smiled even wider as Miguel hugged her. She hugged back tightly. She was so happy to finally be apart of something, other than the popular bullies group.

"Kids are going to be trying out tomorrow. I want you two and Robinson to conduct it. I will be watching from the sides. This will give me a little more info about you, Teller," Johnny explained.

"Yes, Sensei," The two kids said in unison.

Johnny looked at Rory held out a white gi that had a cobra on the back.

"Welcome to Cobra Kai."

Rory pulled into the parking lot of Cobra Kai the next morning. It was filled. Kids were lined up at the door, waiting to try out for a spot in the dojo. To her surprise, she saw Demetri and Eli in that line.

"Eli? Demetri?" Rory said as she got out of her car.

"Rory? What are you doing here?" Demetri asked.

"I'm coaching this try out thing with Miguel and Aisha. Didn't expect to see you guys here," Rory replied.

Demetri gave her a confused look. He knew that she had done karate when she was younger, but she had told him she was done.

"Well, that's cool. I'll see you inside, Rory!" Eli said.

Rory smiled at the boy and walked inside the building. Johnny, Miguel, and Aisha were already inside. The three students all had their gi's on.

"There's a lot of kids out there, so train them good and hard," Johnny spoke up.

"Yes, Sensei," The three said in unison.

Rory was a bit nervous. First off, she had not done karate in over 7 years. The fight with Kyler was the closest thing since. Despite that, she was nervous for Eli. She assumed he was here because Miguel told him to be, but he didn't know Eli as well as she did. He wouldn't punch or hurt a fly. Karate was not what he was made for.

Johnny opened the front doors and kids piled in, one after another. Rory was surprised at how many kids came.

"Are you ready?" Rory asked Miguel and Aisha.

"Yeah, let's line them up," Miguel said.

Just as Rory was about to tell them to get in lines, Johnny stepped in. The three kids had a feeling that they wouldn't be training as much as they expected. They definitely wouldn't be doing the judging.

"QUIET! Everyone face front!" Johnny shouted at the clueless kids.

The kids, who were clearly nervous, quickly got into multiple lines, facing Johnny, Rory, Miguel, and Aisha.

"Nice shirt," Johnny said, looking at Demetri.

"Thanks!" Demetri replied.
