The next morning at practice, Miguel was using Aisha's phone, without her knowing, to call Sam. Surprisingly, she answered. I mean, it wasn't a surprise to the others, since Aisha and Sam are on decent terms now. But, it was a surprise to Miguel.
"Hey! It's about time I've heard from you! Did you miss me?" Sam exclaimed as she answered the phone.
"A lot," Miguel replied.
Rory watched as the call went silent. She could tell that Sam was in shock and didn't really know what to say.
"Please, don't hang up. Aisha doesn't know I'm using her phone," Miguel said.
"What do you want?" Sam sighed.
Miguel looked at Rory and Hawk, who were standing across from him, listening and watching. They both nodded at him, telling him to go on.
"Listen, Sam. I screwed up. I made a huge mistake, and I just want things to go back to the way they were," Miguel continued.
"Well it's not that easy. I'm sorry, I can't talk right now. Just tell Aisha to call me back," Sam quickly said before hanging up.
Miguel sighed and put Aisha's phone back. Rory and Hawk shared a pitiful look.
"Hey, Miguel. Don't even bother. She's just being stupid," Rory assured the boy.
"I guess," Miguel sighed and walked over to his spot.
Rory looked at Hawk. He didn't really seem to care about his best friend being upset. Rory reached for his hand, but he sort of pulled away. She gave him a confused look, but brushed it off and walked over to her spot.
Suddenly, the door of the dojo opened. In walked two new students. Hawk snickered as they walked up to the mat.
"What do you guys think? Shithead One and Shithead Two?" Hawk suggested, making the dojo burst into laughter.
"Nah, I was thinking more Mary-Kate and Asshat," Aisha replied, making the Cobras laugh even more.
The two new students looked at each other in an mix of annoyance and humor.
"Well, I'm Chri-" One of them began.
"DID I SAY YOU COULD SPEAK?!" Hawk shouted, making Chris flinch.
Rory kind of nudged Hawk. Then she turned to the two students and decided to join in on the fun.
"Hey, they're just messing around. Besides, we all know your names are Doucebag and Assface," Rory said.
"Dibs on Assface!" Mitch shouted.
The door opened again. Rory, Hawk, Miguel, and Aisha all walked over to the door to greet who they thought were new students and give them nicknames.
But, it wasn't new students. In walked the man with a large cut on the middle of his forehead. The cut that came from Rory Teller herself.
"Hello, Ms. Teller," Kreese said.
"Oh, um hi," Rory replied nervously, looking at Hawk, who was confused.
Miguel nodded at Kreese, along with Hawk and Aisha. They had no idea who this man was. I guess they didn't read the obituaries.
"Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?! I said tomorrow!" Johnny shouted as he entered the room.
"Today, tomorrow, what's the difference?" Kreese replied.
Johnny sighed and turned to the class, "Students, this is our visitor, Mr. Kreese. He's just an observer. Pretend like he's not even here."
The students all nodded and looked at Kreese. He slightly smiled at the students. In a disturbing way.
